| While the Playstation Network is currently undergoing maintenance, speculation is rife as to what or whom is the cause. And since I've wanted have a go at creating a poll on these forums, I see this as an opportunity to do so. Which Of These Do You Think Is The Most Likely Reason For The PSN Downtime? 1. Steam 2. | They did mention that they had an external intrusion affecting their servers a couple days ago which would prompt them to improve their security system, so it might be the work of hackers who are not a part of Anonymous. | Yes, lemur is correct. Anonymous is the root of the problem though. The quick version is that they were trying to hack PSN, but Sony said that the attacks were just an annoyance, but they assumed the attacks would continue, so they shut down PSN to protect our security, and build a new security system to prevent more intrusions. So its "Other" and "Anonymous". And I just want to say Anonymous has some guts to go after Sony, not exactly the best idea though.
