Absurdly hard to sticker dresses!
Archive: 11 posts
Has anyone ever noticed how incredibly hard some of the costumes are to properly sticker? Most noticeably the newer ones in LBP2 like the Cynthia dress.. Its so annoying to sticker some of the costumes and it ends up on your face or hands! Also it seems like glowy costumes and skins don't like to be stickered either but this is slightly more understandable. Also some seem to have colors that overwrite stickers such as the Quinta dress.. if you put a black sticker on it it just turns darker red.. grr. I have a album with a pic where I have Electra Hair (and hat) and the hair wasn't a problem but there is actually a black sticker on the hat part that shows up black but reflects with a dark red luster... I actually liked that though! | 2011-04-23 20:48:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |

It would help a lot if they brought back the shiny center to show where the sticker is going..... I freaking hate that it's gone. So hard to sticker small details. | 2011-04-23 22:06:00 Author: FocusRSdude Posts: 145 |
I find pants are darn near impossible to sticker. They're easier to sticker from the side of the legs, mainly the inner side. Ya, ther are some kinda difficult to sticker, but once you find the costume's "sweet spot" its easy, and you can make custom stickers to accomodate the position from which is set. | 2011-04-23 22:17:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Hair has too much texture and is too hard to sticker. | 2011-04-23 22:22:00 Author: Cronos Dage Posts: 396 |
Hair has too much texture and is too hard to sticker. For full collor stickering, simply make the sticker really REALLY large before placing it. For detailed stickering, do the thing above for the "main color" and then sticker the rest as you would, more detailedly. | 2011-04-23 23:12:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Way I do it is make a test photo of blocks of varying colours and systematically place this over the costume piece. This allows you see how a sticker will deform and to see exactly where different areas of the sticker end up if they texture wrap. For instance you can sticker the irises of both eyes with one sticker by making a sticker with two iris patterns by using this technique to work out which areas of the image are displayed. There is logic in the seeming chaos of how costume pieces display stickers if you do a little investigating. | 2011-04-23 23:50:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
Yeah, Ive never really had a problem with stckering hair. But occasionally there is some head pieces that have like headbands or earrings attached that when stickered color a random part of the hair.. this can be pretty annoying. Also it would be nice if there was some sort of icon that displayed if the head piece would take off the hair or vice versa.. I'l have my fully colored hair then put something like the Henrick headband annnd now 'Im balled! AHHH! | 2011-04-24 01:11:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |
This is why I always go into create mode to make costumes - Thank goodness for rewind | 2011-04-24 01:14:00 Author: UberOrbPS Posts: 290 |
It would help a lot if they brought back the shiny center to show where the sticker is going..... I freaking hate that it's gone. So hard to sticker small details. I also hate that! Sometimes whenever I'm enlarging a sticker, I have to guess on whether I'm actually stickering the right areas or not, which can provide some hilarious results if done correctly. Although some stickers won't become as small as I want them to, making them unintentionally appear on other parts of the body (sticker the tongue and you'd end up stickering a small portion of your sackperson's hand). Also it would be nice if there was some sort of icon that displayed if the head piece would take off the hair or vice versa.. I'l have my fully colored hair then put something like the Henrick headband annnd now 'Im balled! AHHH! And that's the reason why I constantly save my costume whenever I sticker/decorate it in case something like that happens (when I'm not in Create mode though). I just delete the other ones when I'm done. I also find it annoying that I can't decorate certain hair pieces without having the accessories bobbing up and down while I'm walking. Funny, but annoying... | 2011-04-24 01:30:00 Author: Qrii_Nakari Posts: 204 |
^^^yes yes yes! very true... but does anyone else find it strange that you still are unable to decorate your costumes in your pod? Its already a tiny place that seems like it should zoom in and let you turn around... | 2011-04-24 01:34:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |
