Cancel out attacks

yo im making a top-down twin stick shooter my regular weapon is on the right stick and i have 3 specials mapped out to the l and r triggers how do i make it to whrere you can only do a speacial weapon at once example if u use special laser beam your regular beam cant be shot until the special is done please help | 2011-04-23 19:17:00 Author: Unknown User |
If you use a sequencer and lay out your specials on those, then set the sequencer to play forwards on input, then that should do the trick. The sequencer will not restart from pressing the button until its finished playing, in my experience. If you want to disable other attacks while it is playing, then place a battery along the sequencers length, and take that output, put it through a NOT gate, and combine it into an AND gate with your trigger for your regular weapons. ok trying to understand when i try this i may send you another message so if the attack is on a micro do you move the micro on to the sequencer and do you link all attacks to the and gate also when you add the joystick to the not gate will you still have control even though you cant shoot nice helicoper lookin game by the way do i put all my specials in the and gate along with the joystick motions for the regular attack | 2011-04-23 20:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
ok trying to understand when i try this i may send you another message so if the attack is on a micro do you move the micro on to the sequencer and do you link all attacks to the and gate I would make the sequencer a little longer than it needs to be and put a battery in that will reset the sequencer near the end. The sequencer could have nothing but batteries on it. One battery would turn on the special attack AND activate the NOT/AND gate, the other would tell the sequencer when to shut off. If you want to add some time between special attacks, you would need to add another timer and an and gate before the sequencer... so the timer would need to be full AND you push the button to activate the sequencer. also when you add the joystick to the not gate will you still have control even though you cant shoot nice helicoper lookin game by the way i don't think you would have to put the joystick to any not/and gates, just your main attack on the right stick.
