Score Giver - Just You
Archive: 8 posts
All the score givers in my level are on 6 different items that are being emitted randomly except one of the score givers is on an item that is there from the start and is not emitted. They're all tweaked to "just you" but the emitted ones don't always give just you the score. Sometimes it gives all players the score. It seems to always start out on all players then switch back and forth randomly, but most of the time if you survive long enough (survival challenge level) it finally stays on just you until the end. The score giver that's not on an emitted object isn't affected by this. It's always just you all the time, like it's supposed to be and like all the others are supposed to be. Why is this happening? | 2011-04-23 05:58:00 Author: riverad08 Posts: 104 |
Score givers pretty much suck at their job.. is your level a versus level or a co-op? Because it can bug out differently between the two.. also if 2 players are around wherever the score giver is it will get very confused.. Is it the dreaded white score that shows up or is it the dreaded black score...cause thats what Ive gotten severl times on my game... which would be amazing if i didnt have to fix the score 78 times. | 2011-04-23 06:41:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |
I learned that if you have a controllinator attached to the score giver (probbaly with an AND gate, But make sure the controllinator wire is connected to the FIRST port and whatever originally activates the score giver to the second. VERY IMPORTANT! ) it will go to whoever is in or is in control of, the controllinator. Hope this helps. | 2011-04-23 08:18:00 Author: comishguy67 Posts: 849 |
It can be easily made to give the correct player the points via Tags & Sensors | 2011-04-23 14:27:00 Author: Nurolight Posts: 918 |

It is a co-op but only 1 player. Players 2-4 can only watch, but I don't want them to get any score. And it's the white score which means everyone is getting the points. I don't think this is possible because the objects with the score givers are emitted. You can transfer the "player data" signal through a tag. Do something like this... Connect the Controlinator's 'PS button' output to a Tag, and label it something like "Player 1 Active". On the emitted object, add a Tag Sensor set to "Signal Strenth" and choose the same label. Connect the output of the Tag Sensor to input #1 of an AND gate. Connect whatever wire you previously used to trigger the Score Giver into input #2 of the AND gate. Finally connect the output of the AND gate to the Score Giver. | 2011-04-24 20:43:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

This worked. I don't know how many times you've answered my questions, whether it was asked by me or by someone else. You're awesome, thanks. Thanks also to comishguy67 for the solution. Aya just explained how to make that work wirelessly with tags. | 2011-04-24 23:32:00 Author: riverad08 Posts: 104 |
