Controlinator - PLEASE HELP

Hey,
First things first, I am new when it comes to creating levels. I am working on my very first one, so please be patient with me. I will learn, it just takes time.

Now we have that out of the way, I will explain my prediciment.

I am working on a level where I want sackboy to deathless teleport from one place to another. I don't want it activated with a button or a switch, just merely for him to get there and teleport. I found out from a lot of google guides that a controlinator is the best way to do it, so there I go inputting a controlinator into my level. Thing is, I can't get him to eject to the other one. I have one as a transmitter and one as a receiver, both on the same colour. I have even tried a player sensor as seen in this attachment http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26708

Now, I am stuck with the situation where he won't teleport and I can only get him to eject from the controlinator. None of the guides seem to give you the settings you need to input, only what goes where.

I'm hoping someone here can explain it further as it's getting really annoying when nothing seems to work and no one willing to help

I think the simplest way (haven't tried teleporters yet) is to have one controllinator at the other end, with a detection radius big enough to reach the first point, with it set to automatically enter, then wire a battery(?) to the eject button. You could use a player sensor at the first side to activate the controllinator, so it only activates when you reach a specific spot.

Edit...tried it, didn't work...guess I'll have to read up on teleporters more.

I'm not sure wiring a battery to the eject will work, but you could wire the active output to the eject. But a better way in my opinion would be to have the controlinator on an invisible hologram and emit it where you want to teleport to. You will need to have automatically enter on yes and the range as big as it will go 5000. Then put a not gate on the controlinator circuit board and wire the output to it's own input and to the eject. Emit this with a lifetime of 0.1 and you will be teleported to that spot.2011-04-20 00:15:00

I can see where you're going wrong. put out a piece of hologram material with a controlinator on it. Tweak the controlinator to auto enter = yes and up the trigger radius as well. Also turn off the setting that makes the controllinator visible in play mode. Next connect the output of the controllinator ( the ps3 button in the middle of the controller) to the controllinator seat. Turn the brightness of the holo to 0 and Capture this as an object.

Now put a player sensor in the level where you want the player to teleport from. Them place an emitter near where you want the player to teleport to and connect the output of the player sensor to the emitter. Set the emitter to emit 1 object at once. Set the lifetime to .2 and destroy oldest when max reached. Set the emitter to emit the holo/controllinator whereever you want the player to spawn.

Now when the player reaches the player sensor, the emitter spits out the holo/controlinator. The player automatically enters the seat and is automatically spit back out again and the holo/controlinator gets destroyed.

Note. you can put more than one of the controllinators on the holo to allow for multiple players.

You can do this wirelessly by attaching the player sensor to a tag and having a tag sensor (with the detection radius turned all the way up) attached to the emitter. It's best to use a label for the tag and tag sensor just to make sure no other tag accidentally turns on the emitter.

I just don't like wires running all the way across my level.

I want to point out that from my experince: if you put more than one control seat, the player would switch from seat to seat.
The easyest way i found to do is to put a micro chip somewhere on the level, cepture the contol seat people have explaned above, then on the micro chip, place four emiters emiting the same object. place four player sensers, The first one should activate if there is one or more people (it should always be active) then the second should activate when two or more players are playing, the third is three or more players are playing and the forth... i forgot... (all jokes aside) is set so four players are playing. hook up any switch to the active input on the bottom of the micro chip.
When the switch is activated, the emiters emit the same number control seats as there are players are emited, so the player does not keep going from the four seats, and dieing when the seats get distroyed.
Just one last note: When using the contol seat methed, they need to exist for atleast .3 seconds, if its any less, it would distory the seat befor the player can exit and killing the player

Well... you can just add me, and i can send you the logic, and explain it if you need it. Once you start thinking, it seems simple
