ThecXMen Profile, (Also IMMUNE to SpawnPopCancer side effects)
Archive: 13 posts
Ok, well firstly, I discovered this while messing around with SpawnPopCancer with my friend QSKSw. Though she is a member here, nobody here seems to give two ships about her posts, therefor she left it up to the only one listened to out of our little group, being myself, to report on this find. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zrwlny1A51M As you can see, both of us have ThecXmen here. We both also have SPC but only I am effected by the side effects. Since the votes are in my favor to upload more glitched profiles I'll post a video of that with the SPC profile in a later topic. http://www.mediafire.com/?a31xuapwimgtnsh The above profile backup contains the ThecXmen glitch, now recreateable by applying SpawnPopCancer and making a Sackboy larger than the largest Sackbot. Under normal circumstances however, it cannot be done this way without suffering the game breaking side effects of SPC, but for some unknown reason, QS' profile appears to be immune to any and all side effects of this glitch, producing a perfect unadulterated ThecXmen backup. NOTE: QS sent her SPC profile to MM last week. Shortly after they announced a fix for the glitch had been found. In light of this, I do believe that we cured cancer. Simple as that. You should pay more attention to her. Seriously. | 2011-04-19 11:54:00 Author: Unknown User |
...QS' profile appears to be immune to any and all side effects of this glitch, producing a perfect unadulterated ThecXmen backup. ...which is interesting, perhaps, but ThecX profiles also have spawning issues. I forget the exact conditions, but I recall one of the checkpoints in the Marvel level where you're jumping between vehicles, a ThecX will spawn behind one of the checkpoints near the 4x area, and fall directly into the deadly gas below, creating an infinite death loop. | 2011-04-19 13:10:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

Though I'm not entirely sure about other methods of obtaining the glitch, the most common game breaking problem with this is that you ALWAYS spawn behind checkpoints instead of in front. Meaning if there's anything behind the checkpoint you instantly get crushed upon spawning. Also QS still has her unbroken profile which is also SPC immune. She sent that one to MM and this one to me for experimentation and uploading. I tried multiple methods of applying and undoing the glitch, even attempted to retrace my steps in doing so and still could not find a way to replicate it. Since I could also find no way to apply the side effects after about 2 hours of experimenting, we came to the conclusion that it was immune. | 2011-04-19 13:18:00 Author: Unknown User |
I am a ThecXMan and the only thing about it that I have found is that I can go through theck layers (Including spawn points) from infront to the back. Not the other way around. But I will not spawn behind a spawn point if there is a thin layer behind it. So, I don't always spawn behind. So if you are always spawning behind even if there is a thin layer, it would be a new variation of the thecX gene... we're evolving... Also, theck objects that are deadly kill me. So please don't make spawn points dangerous! And I have no idea how I got the glitch, possibly since the start of the game. I didn't really take notice of it. | 2011-04-19 16:20:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |

So if you are always spawning behind even if there is a thin layer, it would be a new variation of the thecX gene... we're evolving... I never actually tried it that way. One thing weird though is that if the checkpoint isn't glued to the floor it alone will most often crush you. | 2011-04-19 19:22:00 Author: Unknown User |
Weird, that sounds like the sackperson has actually gone from being thack to being thick... EDIT: You said that you always spawn behind the checkpoint, so what happens if the checkpoint is on the back layer? Just curious... | 2011-04-19 20:13:00 Author: Blue Helmet Posts: 306 |

Same, and also there's a new bug in LBP2, which some people may not have noticed, where we can't layer change backwards onto a checkpoint, or theck layer. It's hard to explain, but as an example, place some theck down on the middle layer and stand in front of it. Try switching back into the middle layer. You can't. The hazardous spawn gates didn't kill us in LBP1, though. There's another new ThecX side effect. Oh, and also, something that some people might not know, is that not only can we go backward through theck, but we can go forward through thock. (Examples: Toilet paper roll, Sackbot pipe, etc...) LBP2 brought a lot of new things to Thecxmen. I'm hoping Mm can actually fix this soon. | 2011-04-19 20:34:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |

EDIT: You said that you always spawn behind the checkpoint, so what happens if the checkpoint is on the back layer? Just curious... The model of the sackperson will always spawn in front of the checkpoint if it's blocked behind, however the collision detection will always emerge behind, in this case in the first background layer causing the same crushing effect as if there was a solid object behind the checkpoint. EDIT: I just remembered we made a video so I will post that ASAP. EDIT 2: Video added. | 2011-04-19 22:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
The hazardous spawn gates didn't kill us in LBP1, though. There's another new ThecX side effect. Actually I only experienced this in the LBP2 beta and haven't come across one since but I'm assuming it still occurs. If the checkpoint is on the back layer I spawn normally. | 2011-04-19 22:31:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |

Huh... could that mean the Sackboy is in a different layer entirely? o.0 Not quite, I think that the game believes my sackboy is in the theck layer rather than infront of it. My sackboy stands further back on a layer than others do. So sackboy is in his own sub-layer... I guess. | 2011-04-19 23:11:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |

The Thack layer correct? Actually, no. The thack layer is the layer that sackboy is usually in (Hence s-ack in the name). My sackboy is about half way in both the theck and thack layers. | 2011-04-20 09:50:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |
