Ok basically, on two of my probably best leves which I worked really hard on I got very offensive reviews for no reason, all my other friends liked it and they did'nt, and everyone keeps telling me that not everyone will like your level but these were on purpose. The first: Assackins Creed Brotherhood: Da Vinci's flying machine-Ok, so this was a very tough top-down level which about 10 people liked, and this guy ABROSIA wrote 'Absolute rubbish' then he Commented, not reviewed because he did'nt play it and was being an idiot 'still rubbish on a few of my other levels, plain evil and insulting, yes. The second: Journey of the Mech [part one]- This I have to say was outstanding, it was the coolest thing I had ever created, but, then the troll came, and... he only spoke German! Anyway, I translated his review and it said ' But now you want me **** my test or evaluation mech bad and yourself have such a mech drecks lol' this make no sense at all and is very rude, I Good griefed him for that insulting review, BUT, he only wrote that because I was one of 2 people that boo'd his mech level which did'nt work. I you've been in the same situation please reply.

Respectfully, bad reviews are par for the course for all of us. Typically "revenge Boos" are left by people who are incapable of valuing and providing real feedback, so it does no good to look for explanations or brood over their spiteful actions. The most common advice you'll receive is to ignore revenge Boos and continue to cultivate friendships with more reasonable players. It also helps to limit your own feedback on levels to Yays and positive comments, or nothing at all, although this can make the LBP experience kind of bitter when you feel you are unable to speak your mind for fear of retaliation. But no amount of careful gaming can prevent us from coming into contact with jerks online, and clinging to rage is both the intended goal of so-called trolls and haters and something that they are prone to do themselves (after all, it's why they go around revenge Booing everything). Don't let it get to you. It's part of being on a social network, and we are all on that network. The most vocal ones are often the most annoying, so while it feels like "taking it" by staying calm and reticent, you actually join the legions of us who have silently suffered them and through our resilience make LBP a better place every day -- while the jerks drift off the network one by one, starved for attention. You have my empathy! Hang in there and focus on the good!

Three things... 1. Don't hate on trolls reviews! 2. Don't talk of your level being cool in such a way lest you want to attact trolls. 3. Don't revenge boo, just leave them good feedback and thank them for playing and ask them why they did not like the level. If they have no response and you are sure they were hating, then leave a fun review like, hey I played your level and beat it, too bad you don't have the skills to beat mine. I love that one...it is a nice way to challenge others to actaully try your level and not just noob boo it. 4. I actually learned German, and for some reason there seem to be several a few very mean germans playing LBP that don't like to talk, it seems most often boos come from two groups, Germans that have costume levels and creators here that get mad when you smack talk them too much...the second one is easy to avoid...if you can resist smack talking. edited to keep the peace

I've seen the weirds reviews on simply the greatest levels, Blast Radis, sorry bad spelling, was one of the first MM picks of LBP2. I saw some pretty bad reviews on it... not during first few weeks but i skimmed a few...

I take great offense to this comment. You may just be speaking of a "few German kids" that you bumped into, but it still feels stereotyped. Im sure if I commented about "American Hackers, British Thieves, Japanese Copiers, and XYZ trolls....there would be some toes stepped on. I'm German myself, speak and write english quite well, and I do NOT make custome levels... I make "real" levels and objects. And definately dont boo levels for the fudge of it. As for smack talking, I spend to much time on my Moon to be bothered with childsplay.

Well, get used to it. The more successful your level is, the more likely it us youll be visited by what I like to call, "serial booers", and "Drive-by reviewers". The booers go into your level and actually take the time to go and boo every good review and comment in your level. These folks obviously have no life and a lot a anger. The drive by reviewers usually leave useless, mean spirited and often times down right rude reviews like, "worst ever", "ur levels suck",... and much worse. Just remember, don't feed the trolls. Just delete the rude comment and don't respond. Rise above it.

All I said was "there seem to be several very mean germans playing ", half of my family is German (which is why I learned it), but they do not play LBP 2, they don't have costume levels, and they can speak english...but for somereason I have never gotten nice notes from German LBP2 players with costume levels that don't speak english, infact I have seen some pretty bad notes...while I have gotten nice notes from Brits, Americans, and Japanese. English is a very common language in Germany...but for some reason like I said I get hit by some mean German players that do not speak English, not by all of those many english speaking Germans in Deutschland the US etc...(i.e. my family, friends, those who produce Erfrischungsst?bchen). But I should have said "a few" versus "several", I was implying that you may have run into the same ones I was hit by. A good hater could most likely get around to many levels...it is not as easy as H4Hing tons of players...so there should be some respect there....also I had said I forgot to finish my post half way through.

At the end of the day these trolls are still a very small minority. If i play a level i dont like, i don't even boo it myself. Why? It won't achieve anything. I have seen a few trolls about and when you look at their levels (if they have any) they are usually ones with zero plays. Don't worry about them, they be back on Black Ops before you know it. (and getting Owned he..he.)

Sometimes I'll check out a level of someone that rates or reviews my levels seemingly unfairly & review their level fairly. I'll usually find out their levels are awful &/or H4H spam. I give a lot of negative reviews.

I hate to say it but the LBP community is at least 30% Troll, bound to have your encounters with them. I know they just smacked your baby, but completely ignoring them is your only option. Any other reaction is what they want.

I will not name names, mostly because im nice This sack has horrid levels because of which he played all of my levels and rated them " Boo " and even did one of those stupid reviews where its just his sad face. I'm thinking he was extremely jealous of my levels, so he downrated them for self enjoyment.

This is what I do in that situation: 1. LAWL At their comment/review. 2. Boo it, it will go down eventually, and you can see if others agree. (not likely) 3. Fight off the urge to locate their house/apartment/trailer/tent on Google maps and egg their house/apartment/trailer/tent. (Yes, we all get this urge, right?) 4. Enjoy a nice bowl of nachos and contemplate your next level.

I think it's human nature (although heavily influenced by personailty type) to give more 'weight' to the negative reviews than the positive. I certainly have been guilty of that previously, invariably, if you go look at the creations of someone who's just been plain spiteful, they either have nothing or they have complete rubbiosh. Anyone who spends a bit of time, effort and injects a bit of love into their own creations understands that others are doing the same, and will tend to give supportive or at least constructive critiques. I'm fortunate enough that every level i've made has had thousands of viewings, and hundreds of reviews (ignore my current stats, I took all off at one stage and started again losing the play figures) the overwhelming majority of reviews are supportive, so any time I have to spare now I'll try and repay th efavour and see what they have created. I have NO time or thankfully inclination to trawl thru the dross that the average bad reviwer will be presenting. Side note: I don't think any reasonable person honestly thinks there is a geographical inclination towards jerks, they're all around us, but thankfully they ARE in the minority!

Ive seen some people that ONLY boo... its just mean. Ive only booed if the person stole something without crediting the creator or its obvious that they just did not try at all. That being said Ive only booed like 3 levels, also if you think the level is going to be crap, why play it anyway?

Just ignore trolls, they only do stuff like that because they cannot create levels that are as good as yours, or they cannot even create a level...

If your level is great, and you know it is, and theres no reason to boo your level, then its safe to assume their a jealous troll, in which case its actually quite satisfying knowing I they went to all that trouble to try and make me feel bad. Its quite amussing. Most of the time, they dont have levels, but if they do, theyre always poorly rated with no plays. I always go in and boo each of their levels and right bad reviews back. They asked for it.
