Rage's competitive online features revolve around a series of modes under the umbrella of Rage combat rally. That's right – Rage's online functionality doesn't involve on-foot modes at all. Instead, Rage combat rally allows gamers to drive heavily-armed buggies in violent vehicular combat. And more surprising yet, Rage combat rally only accommodates up to six players at a time in an era where most shooters try to allow for as many players as possible. Rage combat rally contains a series of sub-modes, including team rally, chain rally and vehicle deathmatch. As of right now, there are five maps in Rage combat rally, though more may be prepped in time for launch. Controlling your buggy is a little looser than what might be considered realistic, but the developers stressed that "it's way more fun" this way. So don't go into Rage combat rally expecting really sharp, true-to-life controls.
