Aphex Twin: A Music Level

Archive: 12 posts

So, uh... yeah. Knocked these up in a few hours, and by a few hours I mean like a weekend solely devoted to it. Not expecting this to get too many plays, Aphex Twin is a bit too obscure for the average LBP player, and I'm such a hipster I can't do anything that's not obscure. Apart from everything in all my other levels. Anyways, I'm rambling, just go have a shot at the level and collect some horrendously complicated yet strangely simple music pieces. And please ignore the sarcastic comments in the level, I was in a sarcastic mood when I wrote it.

Pretty cool stuff, i love Aphex Twin.
Heliosphan was defenatly my favourite one, followed by avril 14th. Rhubarb maybe wasn't the best choice (as it's very minimal), I would love to hear a LBP version of Donkey Rhubarb (one) as that song has LBP all written over it.

cheers,

Well thanks. ;P I know Rhubarb was a bit minimal but it has grown on me and i managed to find sheet music for it (which is pretty **** difficult when it comes to aphex twin), so I just did it out of boredom and liked the result. I see what you mean about Donkey Rhubarb, and I'll have a go at it but doing later, more percussive Aphex Twin by ear... I may be good, but maybe not that good. I'll have a go though.

Thanks!

Will deffo check this out! I'm interested as to what the drums sound like. Iv'e just finished doing a lbp version of boy/girl song for a level I'm creating and I found the drums hard to recreate. Just about managed to get something sounding right though

The track will be available as a prize in the level once its published, but im some way from completing the level as of yet.

Played it and left a review on the level but just wanted to say the aphex covers where great and that its well worth a listen! People should really check this out. Iv'e been trying to create music for my new level and have found covers of existing tracks work well. After hearing these, I think ill be taking another listen to my aphex twin collection to see if any others translate into LBP style music.2011-05-20 22:21:00
