does anyone know where I can get a good HD DVR ( high definition digital video recorder) so i can record me playing lbp?? i live in the UK so if anyone knows any reliable UK company who is selling them that would be great.

the only thing i've heard of is the HDMI capture card for a computer(u physically install it inside your computer)
so u plug your ps3's hdmi to that and get a capture program

if u want to wwatch both tv and record then u need an hdmi splitter

i havent looked up any dvr systems, but im pretty sure the capture card and splitters are cheaper than the $100+(american dollars) dvr systems

i'm currently using an easycap (http://www.google.com/search?q=easycap&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a) + splitters it has average quality, but it gets the job done
^cost me about 10 US dollars

That's something I was considering getting - but I just have other things I need to spend money on though. It looks pretty good tbh - and I believe it works much the same way most capture cards I've used do - plug and play really.

I would recommend the "Hauppauge HD PVR".
I?m using this for my tutorials and its very easy to use and the quality is really good.
Check out my channel to see the quality.

I have a Hauppauge HD PVR as well, and it works great. The only thing I didn't know is the model I have doesn't have an HDMI input. I don't know if any of them do. So I had to go buy component cables to record in HD. It came with programs too, to record, but not to edit (if that's something you want). I'd recommend it though.2011-04-20 16:42:00

Ya I run mine through a macbook pro. You have to buy software separately on a mac. It's about $30 and easy to buy and install. You can buy it online. If you go this route post and I'll go find the name of the one I use.

You do need to buy cables too. Best Buy had the ones I needed. Not too expensive, around $30 for those too as I recall.

It actually comes with component cables to your TV, but what Morgana is meaning is you need the component / D plug into the PS3 as the HD PVR does not accept HDMI. However as LBP1 and 2 are only 720p, it isn't an issue. The HD/PVR only goes up to 1080i and via the component cables.

..and then once you get it be sure and ask, because it is kinda confusing to set your ps3 into the mode needed to make it all work as well as back into HDMI mode when needed.

lol... not the first time I explained one to someone either. It is just a bit confusing to be honest. You have the machine instructions and in your case the mac version software and low and behold you really need to have your PS3 manual handy to know how to switch display modes. Otherwise you have a blank screen and wondered why you spent so dang much money on a small little box with a ton of cables coming out of it.

..at least I did when I got mine!! lol
