Trophies

Archive: 10 posts

A couple of weeks ago, I just earned 100% with all levels aced. A few days later, my PS3 got the yellow light of death. I sent it away, and it took three weeks to get back to me. I kept the HDD that was in it because I had 2, which had all my data on it. I couldn't back up my data because I couldn't turn on my PS3 and it needs to be reformatted to be put in this refurbished one, which means I will lose all of my save data.

I am going to extract my save data by computer methods, but for the time being I was playing on a different HDD. My trophies are saved, but when I go into LBP it shows that I have nothing and I need to earn them all again. Does this mean that they are no longer associated with my current trophies that I have already earned? I only have 3 more to go until Platinum, so if I earn those will it show up on my master trophy list? I really need to know, so if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

ya something on the motherboard malfunctions and when you start up your ps3 the light turns green, then a flash of yellow, then back to red and wont start up, hence yellow light of death.2008-12-03 02:10:00

Sounds like the old Xbox 360 red ring of death, but I have not heard of it nearly as much in the media affecting the PS3...2008-12-03 06:06:00

How long do you leave your ps3 on at a time?2008-12-03 06:45:00

I've noticed that if you are in your XMB while not playing a game, and you access your trophies while signed into PSN, you will sync your trophies with the PSN. For example, if you earn trophies, you need to sync them before they appear in your profile card. And apparently, they don't sync unless you specifically do it, or at least that's my experience.

Now, I have brought LBP and my save on a USB to another PS3, signed in on PSN, and gone into trophies, and it synced trophies there, and I then had my full list. I actually won a couple trophies over on that PS3, so closing up I shut down the game, went to the trophies and synced again, and when I went back to my console, I was able to sync and there they were, just as if I'd done it on my own unit. (It's still all my account, after all.)

This may be your problem. Either you didn't sync on your old console, and your PSN account is outdated and so you don't have those trophies, or you may need to sync on your replacement in order to bring it up to date.

See if that works.

Like Mark said, or you can hit triangle on Trophies in the Games menu on the XMB, and click Sync With Server..

it might take a good while if you have a lot though
