It's possible already, just would take a tremendous amount of logic that people dont want to do because the end product wouldnt be desireable compared to an original concept.2011-04-18 14:52:00

Someone already has. I forget what there username was but they recreated the portal gun near-perfectly, it even features advanced momentum physics (i.g... go through one portal fast and come out the other fast, go through one slow and come out the other slow)2011-04-21 03:10:00

that was a perfect opportunity to use,

In layman's terms: speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out.

I hope someone do not. Actually that's a big flaw in the LBP2 community, it's starting to become just like those stupid survivals from LBP1. Remakes, people do them all the time. Plants vs Zombies-remake, PacMan-remake, Annoying Orange-remake.. and many more. Only remakes of popular games, and yes it's cool for the moment but why would I want to play them when the originals are much better. For me it seems like it's just a way to show up that you actually CAN do them, instead of putting some value there.2011-04-21 10:13:00

Yes @daddy_doodle, ive played the same level, back when i was bad at platforming, was really good. Now seeing Portal 2, I get the design of that level...2011-04-21 22:58:00

try my "Portal advamced: Momentum" level, so far it's the closest to the actual game in lbp2, someone put it in the recommendations sub forum https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=54910-Portal-Advanced-Momentum2011-04-22 02:03:00

I dont think the OP was talking about making a portal level.

I think he meant make Portal 2 in LBP2 EXACTLY 100% the way it is. Basically asking: What would it take to make the actualy Portal 2 game, in LBP2?

I love how you categorize the annoying orange with two legendary games.
What is wrong with remaking games? It adds nostaglia, great fun and shows off the immense capabilities of the lbp tools.

People making the annoying orange can go back to lbp1 with all the other noob crap.

Yea it would be a pain in the butt, but ( :3 ) think how famous you would be! AND... you wouldn't have to pay for it either! ( )

You cant make Portal EXACTLY in LBP2. You can't draw whats on the other side of the portal... or make it first person 2011-04-28 21:03:00

I'm currently working on recreating Portal 2 in LBP2. Im a sucker for detail, but logic is my weak point. I'm planning to do the puzzles exactly as they're supposed to be solved, but alter them my way in terms of a side-scrolling platformer. I'm hoping i'll be able to get the Portal Tech help from evret with the momentum and such, but i've already done the visual portals out of holographic, but not as simple coloured blocks. I'll upload a pic of what i mean soon.2011-05-02 22:49:00

You could definitely make it first person. It would take a tremendous amount of work though, and converting a 2.5D engine into 3D is no small feat. The best thing I've seen so far is the raycasting method used to create such levels in the Beta as Wolfenstien 3D, but that system does not allow for looking up and down (which would obviously be a problem in a game like Portal).
