[rec]

I thought about watching this movie called [REC] (I hope there is no thread about it already because the name was too short for a search) and I wondered how violent that movie is. Is there anyone who watched it so he could tell me about it? I don't like too much gore like zombies eating guts and all that sick **** but just blood and some flesh wounds would be ok. Do you guys think some sensitive girl like me can watch it or is it that typical zombie movie where they rip bodies apart? Don't want to puke after watching it.2011-04-17 23:45:00

Is that the one about the TV reporter who is doing a night shift at a firestation, or something? I've seen a trailer for that somewhere, looked okay. Standard zombie flick...2011-04-17 23:59:00

Well, if it is that one where the entire movie is seen from the point of view of a camera, then I know it. I watched it. There's some gruesome bits, like exposed fractures and broken necks and stuff, but these are only for the "OMG" effect. Most of the movie is running away from zombies, thinking about what to do and watching other people getting pulled into the darkness.

Thing is, once you get to the part where it gets entertaining, you'll want to know how it'll end. :kz:

I actually really liked this film - and it's sequel, [REC]2. It's the movie which America made a version of - I think the American version is called Quarantine?

The Spanish version is way better - and it's original. Sure, it's gory and it's a little scary, but it is well worth a watch - depending on your age of course! The Spanish version is of course subtitled - but I think it's a little more than just a standard zombie flick. Watch this one and the second, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Oh, and just a note: I'm usually not into zombie movies!

I watched Quarantine, the American version, and overall it was a very solid movie in terms of horror, and didn't go overboard with the gore. It's very effective in it's design and in creating that stressful and tense feel f suspense and terror. I've no doubt the Spanish version is excellent as well, as I've read very good reviews and the Americans apparently liked it enough to convert into an English film.2011-04-18 01:20:00

I'm sure their both good actually - I've heard they're pretty similar - even more so than most remakes, as apparantly they even have mostly the same lines. I suppose the benefit of the Spanish version is that you can watch the second one straight after!

Although I do hear that Jeniffer Carpenter (Debra in TV series Dexter) is very good in Quarantine.

I just don't like those "rip them open and eat their organs and stuff" parts. As long as the movies don't have that I guess I can watch it.2011-04-18 13:35:00

It's more like "Flashlight on -> A wild zombie appears! -> Flashlight off".
At least the english version was.
