Death of the (Un)Dead

Archive: 2 posts

Hoorah! In a matter of hours, I will finish the final testing on my new zombie survival challenge. In DUD (Death of the Un Dead), players can build barricades and climb through vents to avoid or slay the undead legions. To set this apart from the hundreds of other challenges, I have made the environment (a bar) highly detailed, and given players the ability to erect their own barricades anywhere to set up choke points or block off rooms. Zombies grab you to attack, and if they hold on for 3 seconds, you die with no respawns. Luckily, you can slap them off with a quick button combo, then either run away, or execute them as they get back up.
DUD is multiplayer friendly, though I haven't tested the possible lag online. (There is no lag for me in single player.)

The soundtrack is made by Jack 0_o, and consists of 2 heavy metal tracks and the silent hill theme music.

The level is complex, but in many areas I have used invisible dark matter to stop players from accidentally jumping into areas that they shouldn't.This should fix many of the problems assciated with overly realistic levels. The lighting is, in my opinion, amazing, though I'm having trouble getting the zombies to mavigate to house well enough to be a threat in parts of the building. Hopefully I'll have that problem fixed when I publish it tonight.

This sounds awesome, and i will certainly give it a go tonight. I'm also planning on trying my own style survival level, except with cannibals in the jungle, and i'm hoping it willgo as planned.
I'll give you some feedback asap.
