Snap, crackle & pop in create mode?!

Archive: 9 posts

I've had a few weird things in create mode and I'm not sure if this is a sign that my level is going to corrupt and die on me. So here it is... whilst in create mode I've had a jitter on the screen and a loud snapping sound, crackle then pop as if my speakers or sub has blown. Then all sound is gone, as if I've pressed the mute button. This worried me so I came out backed it all up on the PS3 and a spare USB keyring drive thinking something is going to happen.

When I go back later is all ok. Does anyone have any info on this and if indeed it means something sooner or later will happen to the level I'm working on?

The rice krispies are attacking!!

Don't worry about this, it happens all the time to everyone and means nothing. If it happens again, quitting the game will always fix it. Although, you should always be backing up regularly anyway just in case. All we can do is wait for a fix.

Hm? I remember this from a while ago...

My sound went completely mute. Lasted for a fair deal of time? It's fine now, and I can't really remember when it returned? May have been when I turned off the console at the main power switch...

This is a known issue with the sound, and you can't fix it unless you restart the game. It's pretty annoying, but doesn't happen very often.2011-04-16 17:57:00

I honestly thought at one point it messed up our surround sound system, an expensive one too. Anyway after major changes to any of my levels I just back up onto the PS3 itself and my USB stick and now and even a whole system backup onto an external hard drive.

phew!

I had this, and one thing I found was it would happen on hiding a certain part of my level. No other part did it, and when I tried moving this block it froze the console. I deleted that block, and started the section again and now it's fine. That could be a one off instance of how I got around it, and that may not even be how it always happens to everyone, but I must agree it is an annoying problem. 2011-04-16 19:10:00

Well on my level it happens when I'm tinkering with cameras and the sequencer near the start of my level. Strange I'll keep an eye on it, don't really want to delete it and do it again. I'll live with it for now.2011-04-16 19:18:00

Yeah it always happens right around the time the pop-it shoots off the side of the screne. It seems logic based for me.I keep meaning to mess with the play music from my harddrive to see if that resets it, but I always space it.2011-04-17 07:20:00
