Sackbot Talk/Emotion Help

This is an easy one perhaps, but I know too little to find a solution on my own. THE PROBLEM I have a sackbot character who wanders around in a grumpy pre-recorded animation. At times he becomes happy, scared, reacting to objects with tags. But he needs to maintain the same pre-recorded walk. Easy, right? Feel free to overwhelm me with specifics, point me to a tutorial on complex sackbot personalities... I appreciate any help I can get!
