The Calamitous Clock

Hey everyone, I thought I would let you know I have just published my new level called The Calamitous Clock. As a member of the smallest race of Sackies known as the Elfin Sackies, you, your brother, and your grandpa live inside a grandfather clock. After waking up from a nap, grandpa needs to see you in the study. Something just is not right inside the clock near the pendulum....

This is mostly a platformer and it has a couple of hidden secrets as far as points are concerned. Why not read a book or two during your play?? Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and as always, any feedback is appreciated. Also, the whole level is split up. At the end of the main level there is a level link to the sub-level. The sub-level is relatively short.

Thanks for the response. Hope that everyone enjoys the level. I was made aware of a multiplayer bug that occurs during the end of the boss fight, but I have gone in a fixed the issue. I will say though that the level is probably best for 1 or 2 players. Thanks and any feedback would be great and greatly appreciated.

The biggest (and only one) complaint I have been seeing on reviews people have left in game have to do with the clock chimes. Let me explain. I myself do not like to place things in my level that stop the flow of the gameplay. However, I felt as though displaying the passing of time was necessary. If you noticed, the clock chimes the first time and chimes once, and each time after that the clock chimes one more than the previous. I wanted the player to get a sense of how the time was passing by. And yes it did pass by fast. In a relatively short level the clock goes from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. with the last set of clock chimes ringing 10 times. But please think about how fast time seems to go by in real life when we are sleeping. The chimes occur more often as you go so as to get a sense of urgency. I apologize to anyone and everyone who felt the camera cutscenes with the clock chimes were unnecessary and took away from the flow, but that was never my intentions. I was merely trying to give the player a sense of atmosphere so they would feel like they were in a clock, hence the camera shaking as well, and to help relay the passing of time while one is asleep.

Another epic level from Shookie.

VISUALS:
The cogs are well made, and the materials are neatly polished. This level does look like you're in a clock.

SOUND:
Great music choices and effective sound effects.

GAMEPLAY:
As always, you came up with some unique obstacles. The creatinator usage is very cool, especially going against the boss. The only thing that should be fix is the teleport. Instead of teleport death, you should have the controlinator take you to the spot.

OVERALL:
An very creative level with intriguing gameplay and solid visuals. A yeah vote, a heart, and a positive review.

Very good effort here. You should really embed the images in your first post because this level looks good. Lots of attention to detail, fun platforming, and good powerup use. Well done.2011-04-19 05:34:00

Thanks for the feedback JustinArt and nextlevel88! The level did not do as well as Honey Factory Fiasco Prologue, but regardless I am really glad that most people that played it liked it, no matter how many plays it gets. I don't make levels for plays, but simply for fun and hopefully for my friends to enjoy. I will eventually make a sequel to this...mainly because I think there is more to tell. Possibly the birth of a hero, whose strange dreams may not be dreams at all...
I am working of several other projects right now and will be devoting myself to a trilogy that will be released all at once, so be on the look out for that around the first week in July, although I do have one level that will come out in the next week or so before I start my trilogy.
