Creating custom stickers ?
Archive: 11 posts
Im sorry if this has already been asked but I would like a detailed description on how to make custom stickers. I have seen some great ones on LBP2 and would like to make some of my own. Thankyou in advance to anyone that can point me in the right direction. | 2011-04-15 02:22:00 Author: Aven1981_UK Posts: 51 |
1. Create a object 2. Press start and change to front view 3. Go to the stickers section of your poppit 4. Use the capture photo icon 5. Share with the community Here is a sample of some of my work. http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/b721f7be9b13150472d5f46011adc71e887bd072.jpg | 2011-04-15 03:25:00 Author: fireblitz95 Posts: 2018 |
yeah the only way is to take pictures, you can do a lot with the things you make though. | 2011-04-15 03:45:00 Author: FocusRSdude Posts: 145 |
If your making a sticker from scratch with material make sure you use Blue Wood Material. For some reason the stickers look better. Also I thought I'd post this here. I found out tonight that instead of pressing X then triangle to delete a sticker. Just hove sticker editor over your sticker and hit triangle. It's a little quicker and just feels better. | 2011-04-15 07:04:00 Author: METALPUNKS Posts: 306 |

Can you take pictures/capture decorations and make a sticker from it coloring it the way you want to with other stickers? Just wondering as there's a few thing with a nice texture and shape that I want to use as foliage other then the standard folliage decorations that you get. For example, use something that it plastic (but I want it to be green), take a picture of it, then sticker that picture with the colours I want and take a picture of it again to use as a sticker. I starting to decorate my level now and I'm looking at ways of creating texture and folliage other than what you're given in the game. | 2011-06-08 12:24:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
If you are looking for folliage, what you can do is find some materials that have a nice texture, like the hair or fur or whatever it is called, and turn up your fog to a green color and snap some pictures of it, then paste it where need be... it makes an excelent grass/mold look. As for plants like vines and bushes, I am currently working on a lot of custom plant stickers, and have found the best way is to make an object of what you are creating, make it exactly how you want it, and snap a picture of it over your desired back ground, then layer them using as much visual trickery as you can to cover up the seams. Making vines out of green wood and simply covering up the seams with them is an easy and beautiful addition. Also, in the realistic stickers section, there is a black smudge, and several fingerprints that look surprisingly natural when used tp conceal sticker seams. The use of light, though, is what really will make your folliage convincing. Use spotlights with a little fog above your gameplay area tilted at an angle and facing downward. This give the impression of a forest or jungle, just don't over do it! Over do stickers as much as you can, but use light in moderation and you will come out with a grade A level | 2011-06-08 13:28:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
I've been using fur very slightly between layers as grass/moss and butl it's brown or white, I didn't know the fog colour could do that or even show up in captured things. I've been making my own custom plants out of decorations. Foliage is very sparse since it's more of a rocky cave level. I've used spotlight to highlight levers at an angle which also looks like a beam of light coming through from the outside. I will be snapping away at stuff later today then. | 2011-06-08 13:42:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
Yeah. If you want a nice colorful sticker without any annoying fade, set the fog level to 0% and the color to black. This makes colors pop more than any other fog color, and don't forget to take the picture in front view for best color definition and shape! | 2011-06-08 13:47:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
Is there a way to get rid of the black background? I placed my decoration on black glass from a tutorial on lbp.me as it seems to brighten it. UPDATE: Actually just thinking couldn't I just snap it on top of the material I'm using in my level? Will this help get rid of the background or juts fade it? UPDATE: Nope just tried it & the background comes out darker then the material it was snapped on. I'll make do with what I've got so far. :/ | 2011-06-13 20:43:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
