Help with hit detection during a boss battle that uses creatinator as a weapon.

Hello! I got a boss battle here in which a tiny sackbot flys around the room and you have to zap him with a creatinator that shoots an electric beam (like the one in the Mutant Marhmellows story level). Here is a screen shot of what I've got so far...

You can see the little flying sack to the right of the square room if you look closely enough (he is the tiniest I could make him without glitching), and you can see the beam I'm shooting.

The beam that is shot has tags all along it. In the sackbot's circuit board is a tag sensor connected to a counter set to 30, so when I zap him enough times, he's toast. I tested what I have so far and everything works fine. In create mode, I can see the counter filling up as I zap him, so I know I'm making contact. But during play mode, there is no indication that the beam is making contact to let the player know it's working (kind of like when you shoot something with the paintinator, it makes those 'beep boop beep' sounds).

My question is: What can I add to let the player know that he/she is successfully hitting the sackbot with the beam?

Add sound effects (sooo many now in LBP2, it's almost overwhelming). That will help a lot. You could also add a visual cue. A bit of holo that just slightly bigger than him (with a follower attached, set to follow a tag - and the matching tag on the sackbot's chip). Wire up your tag sensor to the holo and it will light up with every hit. Diminish the brightness of the holo some and it will give the impression of a glowing orb. Make sure that the follower on the holo is set at the fastest available speed.

Hope this helps!

You could make a block of holographic material (of 0 brightness) with a follower on it set to follow a matching tag on the sackbot. but, to avoid any extra hastle, simply detach the counter that you have from the chip its on (dont delete any of its wiring or connections) just move the counter onto the holographic block that follows the sackbot and in the counters tweaks, turn on the VISIBILITY to DISPLAY The counter without the wires.
Thisay you wont need to make any new displays just have your current counter visible over the sackbot.

Hope that helps
