For those of you who don't know, a prequel to the Planet of the Apes franchise is set to come out on August 5th. The movie will follow the first intelligent ape, Caesar, who is accidentally given his intelligence by human scientists who are using genetic engineering to try and find a cure for Alzheimer's. Instead, Caesar uses his new intelligent to free his fellow primates and leads a revolution against the humans. This is the first movie in the franchise to not use makeup to create the apes. Interesting. First time I see this film. It's good bring back old classic series and experiment it with prequel where all began. The visual effect team who made Avatar does good job, so there's no doubt it will look great. But always, I have my doubts on everything. I think this is more of a reboot than a prequel, in the original series Caesar was the son of Dr. Zira and Cornelius, chimps from the future who escaped earth's destruction in a spacecraft and arrived in the 70's through a wormhole; he was intelligent from birth & not as a result of any kind of experimentation. But, as much as I hate reboots, the trailer looks great so, I really hope this'll be good & that they'll keep going with it for a while & not just reboot the series every time a new writer/producer/director comes along.

This film was originally gonna be called "Rise of the Apes". Personally I prefer that. The new one is too clunky. Does look good though.

"Caesar", "Caesar: Rise of the Apes", etc. Wasn't until the day before the trailer came out that they settled on this name. Not sure why. Quite the mouthful.
