timed emmitting?
Archive: 5 posts
yo guy i already know how to emitt for my top down shooter im working on but how you set the emitter to then emitt for a certain amount of time switch to emitt something else example when the small laser shoots for 10 secs then it changes into a more deadlier laser that deals more damage letting go of the right joystick would reset the sequesnce | 2011-04-14 03:53:00 Author: Unknown User |
METHOD 1:You will need two emitters for this, (I guess that you already do) and a timer. First emitter stands alone while the second emitter must be wired with the timer. If you have a button on the controlinator for your top-down shooter that activates the second emit option, wire the button to the timer that activates the second emitter (emit option).METHOD 2 (I suggest this one): If it's a tag or power-up that gives you the special emit option and you have to touch the power-up to activate the second emit option, you have to place a microchip on the power-up that has an impact sensor, a tag, a counter, and a destroyer. The impact sensor shall be set to "include touching: yes" (WARNING! Don't have the power-up inside anything or touching anything or else it will activate the power-up regardless whether you are touching it or not. If you wish to give the image that the power-up is inside, e.g. an asteroid, then just emit the power-up when the asteroid is destroyed. Or you could use a tag on the player controlled ship and make the impact sensor require the tag that that is on your ship, this way you can put the power-up in an object without having to emit it) Then wire the impact sensor into the counter. The counter should be set to 'Target count: 1' so that it acts like a permanent switch. then the counter should be wired to the tag and the destroyer. Place another impact sensor on your ship and set it to 'include touching: yes' and 'require tag: yes'. match the tag on the power-up to the impact sensor on your ship. Then have this impact sensor wired to the second emit option. Finally, the destroyer on the power up can be set to whatever(shrink looks the best). I hope this helps if you have any questions about this I am watching this thread so fire away with those questions! | 2011-04-14 06:18:00 Author: LBP2_Tutorialist Posts: 225 |
let me explain further when laser emmits for 10 secs then that emmitter is cancelled out to emmitt something else then letting go of the joystic resets the sequence | 2011-04-14 14:38:00 Author: Unknown User |
I haven't tested this, but I think it should work. You will need two emitters- the first one has an XOR gate into it with the "shoot" button and a 10 sec timer set to start count up hooked up to it. The timer should also be activated by the shoot button. The second emitter has that same timer going to the emitter input. Then have a NOT gate going to the timer reset and have the joystick output connected to the input of the NOT gate. Sorry I'm not very good at explaining logic. Hope this helps! | 2011-04-14 22:50:00 Author: KnutsoPX Posts: 116 |
