The Ruins

Hi guys, haven't posted on here in a while! Anyways I got bored and decided to finish up an old LBP1 level that was collecting dust. I updated it for LBP2 and finished it up and I was wondering what you guys thought of it. You journey through the ruins of an ancient underground city and it is more about the scenery than gameplay, however I did include a few platforming parts and they are very difficult. I added this for the extra challenge and to add more time to the level for it overheated very quickly and is quite short. Anyways tell me what you think!

Very spooky so far. But I got my self stuck in the tunnel right after the water rises. Got the dynamite and shot it tice to get through and the top half of the section collapsed and blocked me about halfway down the tunnel. Want to play the rest of it, trying again now. Okay so you shot the dynamite and the crates exploded and then you got stuck in that tunnel there? Did the crates not explode properly or did rocks fall upon you? Or did the whole level collapse?

Edit: Ah saw your pictures! That is very odd, it hasn't happened to me ever and I've tested the level about 30 times. I'll see what I can do.

Edit 2: Wow tried it and the same thing happened. Must have deleted something important when I finished it up!

It was good but kind of short. The atmosphere was great getting into the cave and spooky once inside. When I played through again when I got through the tunnel it felt like I should have been walking into something more. It kind of seems like you got tired of making this one, probably how it got dusty in the first place.2011-04-14 03:30:00

I was getting tired of creating it however when I stated it up again and had to create the end I was working with only enough thermo space for like 1 or two simple objects. If I ever make a 2nd one I'll just change the end and link them, hopefully solving the shortness issue.2011-04-14 11:29:00

Haha, I did NOT escape the ruins AFAIK. This had good atmosphere and was challenging, while only being a little too challenging unnecessarily. My only suggestion would be to put a "safety floor" in the back layer at the top of the mine shaft area after the water rushes up. The dynamite puzzle took me a while because I didn't know where it was spawning, and I thought I just had to shoot the boxes blocking the path. I got the paintinator, shot wildly around, figured out something explosive was spawning off camera, ditched the paintinator, placed the dynamite with utmost care, and then ran back for the paintinator three or four times out of my own clumsiness. Alternatively, you could put an infinite checkpoint up there somewhere and then people could just Retry back up the mine shaft if they fall down, but they'd still have to give up the paintinator that way. This part got a little frustrating, other than that not too shabby!2011-04-16 04:31:00
