Online Multiplayer

I don't do online multiplayer myself but I would like to make levels that can be played comfortably with two or more online. But since I've only done multiplayer on my system I don't know if it behaves different online. Does the camera still pan out to try to keep all the players in the same screen and cause player deaths if they get stuck behind or does everyone get there own camera following them?2008-12-02 00:22:00

Yes, everyone has to be on the same screen on online multiplayer, so it kinda bhaves like ordinary multiplayer I suppose.2008-12-02 00:24:00

Also mentionable is that all the players will be seeing the same thing.

Another also: Has anyone created with two or more players? The camera being fixed onto only the first player really sucks. grr

Incredibly. I'd go as far as saying that it renders it pointless. If it's the same thing when online create is out, there's gonna be a riot.

Thanks for the answers, that is kind of unnecessary that the camera moves like that online. It would have been really great to be able to have kind of an open level where everyone can do their own thing. I guess it means everyone might finish at different times though and maybe it wouldn't work.2008-12-02 02:19:00

I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure the Online Create will be just the same. I suppose it's so that nobody will wander off and get lost? 2008-12-02 02:21:00

If Online Create Mode has a stretchy screen... UGH. I do NOT want that.2008-12-02 02:27:00

So what's the solution? The camera fixed onto one player is no good. The camera stretching really large is no good either.

Here it is. Players get their own camera, and there's a radar that you can open by means of a currently unoccupied button. :hero:

No, the camera should work like it does when you're alone. It follows you and you can control it... you have those pointers at the sides of the screen so you can tell what direction your friends are in, of course.

But that seems to only make one player happy. I mean, if you're in Create Mode, it's because most of the time, you want to do some creating, and if the camera isn't on you, you can't see what you're doing, and that greatly limits you to creating in the same screen as the one, happy player. Do you have any ideas on how to improve upon the current system?

Maybe seperate screens for co-create?

whats the point of having two people at work, if only on job can be done at once. seems pointless....
