Most frustrating moment for you?

Archive: 19 posts

My most frustrating moment was definately trying to get the Aces in Spades trophy, the first time I attempted it I aced 9 levels but on the last/boss level in Victoria's world I failed on the last segment with the laser beam and the bounce pads. So I think, hey, I know I can do 9 so I can make it to 10. But maybe it's be better if I arrage it a bit differently. Maybe it'd be best if I go from the hardest level to the easiest. And what's the easiest level? Da Vinci's first level of course. So I make it to 9 again and on to 10. About halfway through the Da Vinci level I jump from the bounce pads I'm flying through the air, I land perfectly flat on the floor, I can taste victory... I got squashed... WHAAAAAAAT! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So I wait another few days, knowing that it was a glitch, a stupid buggy level that thwarted me. So I try again, get to the 7th level and I get the message that the access point has been disconnected. So I go downstairs. "Mom did you switch the internet off?" followed with the reply "You've got to do your Maths homework, before I let you switch it on again." Oh no. My luck isn't that bad is it? Yes. Yes it is. So I do my homework in about half an hour, quickly rush upstairs and play the remaining level. Finally. And the most insulting thing? I find out it's a BRONZE trophy. Yup. I went to that much trouble to only get 1% on my trophy card.

Ps: First post/thread, woot!

Besides the game suddenly crashing on you and your system mysteriously getting YLOD when you reached the epiphany of your design-- heightening the possibility of losing data for one of the biggest projects in LBP2?

Hmmm, probably the day i encountered the infamous Clone Glitch. I was doing attacks and the game would create weird clones of my characters whenever they attacked. Sometimes two and i would rewind, and then play again, then three would come out. I spent three hours trying to figure out why the game was doing it. Went to a different level, and did the same attack--only one character.

There were some other things, but glitches is the most irritating thing ever, because its not really your fault.

I've only had my PS3 Slim since November so it's unlikely YLOD will happen to me, but one time my slot loader broke with the lbp2 disc halfway inside, and nearly destroyed it. :/ But just incase my ps3 dies on me, I think I'll save the level I'm working on with a USB, because I'm not prepared to sped another 30 or so hours getting it back again. And sorry to hear of your level data loss.

Acing Full Metal Rabbit...

Uggh, Full Metal Rabbit is a hair-puller.

It won't matter to the OP at this late point, but acing 10 levels is a breeze when you back up your profile after each completed level. Die and reload, die and reload, no problem. I managed to get 22 (erm, in a sense) aced levels "in a row" using this system, and unlocked those pins. Wasn't worth going further.

My frustration is becoming one overall with the multiplayer experience. I grind my teeth with suppressed rage before I even get to play with someone due to the endless parade of loading/quitting/time out/kicking/inviting/refusing messages and fade-to-white transitions that go nowhere, and when I do actually make it into a game with a stranger s/he'll be a complete jerk in the space of 30 seconds. Ten minutes of attempted socialization with anyone outside my friend list and I'll be told that I "suk" at least once, be taken to an empty Moon for stand-and-do-nothing purposes at least twice, and slapped and stickered a dozen times. And yet I keep going back to it night after night, trying to escape my tremendous loneliness. Sigh.

Create mode bugs are by far the most frustrating thing for me to have to deal with.2011-04-13 08:01:00

Hm...creating a stupid music level in the beta in 2 hours getting in a week more plays and good comments than my level did in LBP1 in a year and a half.
Having to wait a week more than anyone else the release of the game, since Italy got it late, while I could see all my friends playing.
Being forced to buy the standard edition because the Collector's one wasn't available in Italy.
Getting the pop it bug.
Getting this continuos disc error that prevents me to load the game at all.

Create mode bugs are horrible, I found out that when you tweak with movie cameras, it reset the sound on my ps3, and I had to restart it. And not just once, twice! But backing up your profile repeatedly to get a pin/trophy is sort of cheating...2011-04-13 10:27:00

Full Metal Rabbit was easy, I honestly don't see what everyone is complaining about.

Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge, on the other hand, certinely is annoying.

I'd say movers are annoying, it takes a lot to get them to do something that seems simple (for me, anyway).

Oh, and the fact that my level I was working on now decides to freeze at a certain point every single time, I liked that level and I've pretty much forgotten it, it's been so long since I last worked on it.

Yeah, now that I think about it, create being generally annoying is way more frustrating than acing a level.
You try to make something that should be easy, but for some reason it doesn't work the way it should!
More rage quits come from that than anything else.

Acing all levels before the intro to the cosmos. Then watching the cutscene that starts off the cosmos, game freezes, reload, all level data gone. And having no backup. Then the other 5 profile corruptions were pretty irritating too.. only so many times I can sit through that intro and hear Stephen Fry explain everything before I go insane..2011-04-14 17:43:00

Acing Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge! That is was SO FREAKING HARD to ace! It took me SO many tries! GRAAAAAAAA I was so frustrated.

Also, on a side note, you know you can cheat the aces in spades trophy right? And yes its a bronze trophy, but the platinum trophy is platinum.

I found it way easier to ace the Negativitron Boss fight than I did to ace Full Metal Rabbit and Bang for Buck.

My most frustrating moments include freezes on the game, MAJOR lag whilst playing with someone else online and ace of spades - by which I mean I still haven't completed. Last time I managed to ace 9 levels in a row - and then died on the cupcake level, simply because I fell in the fire after forgetting to jump at a very easy point. Grrr!

I hear ya bro
Almost a similar experience with me....
Get in a game where someone says "I've done this level, follow me"
Then proceeds to die over and over because They Lied...
Or get in a level of the game where you just need that
final 5% to get 100%, only to watch the game leader sprint across
the screen, so fast that even Superman couldn't possibly follow...

Wow, you sure have had extremely bad luck.. In my case, I have very rarely ran onto complete idiots in multiplayer (only once I had to eject a player, since he just continously jumped away from the race gate, frustrating everyone else including me). Also, I'm very rarely end up to a moon, since I tend to play as the group leader (I never take my guests to the moon, and I will instead circulate them across my favourite platforming levels, which they usually like).

In my case, the frustrating thing is trying to ace certain levels, such as ones in The Factory Of Better Tomorrow & Cosmos (or whatever they are in English, I have a Finnish version, so level names might not be too accurate).

When you invite a friend round who decides it would be funny to drop a tonne of metal on your level squirting everything then deciding they might as well hit the POWER button before you have time to rewind2011-04-15 21:30:00

Between acing full metal rabbit and my top down character not being able to jump unless I move the lane changer microchip from the 'jump' microchip on it's controllinator to the controllinator's mainframe for it to work properly (note it technically didn't change anything connection-wise), nothing too bad.2011-04-15 21:46:00
