Data transfer w/ level links

Archive: 3 posts

Hello all,
I am trying to set up a data transfer system for my level. It has 7 variables that need to be transferred through each level link, but something isn't working properly. I am using the system provided by Comph, but I had to adjust it to detect the extra variables. This system seems to have been set up to adjust itself for 1-4 players, but when it "scans" for the points something is going wrong because 5 points are left over when I play with 2 players ( I haven't tried 1, 3, or 4 player yet). Figuring out what is wrong with the system may be next to impossible through forums so I was wondering if anyone with some knowledge of data transfer would be willing to take a look at it with me. If you would like to help, please leave your psnID and I will add you. Thanks!

If you don't feel like leaving your psnID, just send me a message through psn and I will add you.

Check out comphermc's video tutorials (part 9 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v17JnhpDMuY&feature=related) and part 10 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLF_GsQmPdU)) on youtube.

If I remember correctly he mentions the multiplayer issues with scores and some possible fixes.

Cheers

While I appreciate the advice, I have already watched those videos. Comphermc is the one I got the system from.

Each "variable" i am talking about is an emitted object (not sure if that is the issue). Four emitters are activated by the 10, 20, 40, and 80 score sensors, but for example if I have 80 points going through the level link, the 10 and 20 point emitters are activated but I am left with 0 points in the end. I have made sure that the score sensors are running from largest to smallest and have even tried slowing the time on the sequencer to 1 second per stripe (normally it is .2 sec). This is really frustrating because the logic looks like it should work!
