Projectile damage logic

makin a top down shooter i want to make series of ships that take a certain amount of hit before being destroyed please help me i seen the tutorials on the forum but they arent making sense to me with appying the logic to my enemy i know a few things how to get it to follow you and how to destroy the enemy but it only takes one shot help me fix my issue pleeeeeeeeese2011-04-12 05:51:00

ok then. just like fireblitz95 was saying,but here is my translation; if your making your own projectiles place a tag on the projectile. then on the logic for your enemy ships, place an impact sensor set to 'require tag' yes and match the tag and the impact sensors together. then place a counter and set it to the amount of hits you want the enemy to take before it explodes then wire the impact sensor to the counter.

If you're using the MM projectiles, then just use a projectile sensor and set it to the amount of hits you want the ship to take before it explodes.

Depends what your using for projectiles. I would place a tag on the projectile and on the enemy I would put an impact sensor set to the color of the tag. Hook the impact sensor up to a counter. Then hook the counter up to a destroyer(include ridgid connections) and score giver. Make sure also that enemy has an anti gravity tweaker so he doesn't drop from the sky and maybe a follower so the enemy can track you. Note: put everything on microchips. Also make sure you test this out in play mode. Sometimes play mode acts out differently than create mode. Finally capture your enemy or even better capture the microchip so you can place it on whatever type of enemy you'd like.

yes that is the correct set-up. Impact sensor should be set to require the projectiles tag and include touching should be on. The destroyer should be set to how you want it to disappear. That's about it! 2011-04-12 07:10:00

Are you making sure the counter is set to 0 and set to how many times you want to hit the ship for it to destroy.

And don't hook up the impact sensor to both inputs of the counter, because one is input and the other is reset. You can't start and reset something at the same time.2011-04-12 23:04:00

Also make sure that you're not not wiring the impact sensor directly to the destroyer. remember: Impact Sensor to Counter's Increment input. Counter to destroyer.2011-04-13 02:19:00
