Magic Tree House, Night of the Ninjas (Act 1)

Archive: 7 posts

This is actually my first major story-based level that I made. But, despite the fact that I did a good job, I feel that there are one or two elements that I personally find that needs improvement...

I didn't get very far here. After the walk through the forest, I rode the sponge up and died shortly there after. I spawned at the entrance, walked back through the forest, got to the sponge except it wasn't there, it was stuck at the top. Restarted, ran through the forest, failed to ride the sponge up the first time. I fell down, but the sponge didn't. Not sure if you're using an on/off switch or a forward/backward (in/out?) switch, but forward-backward would make that part easier. I'd also make the sponge smaller and tweak it so it can't get stuck on the ledge. Sorry but that's as far as I got :/

I noticed after the fact that this is an LBP1 level, so don't worry about F4Fing my LBP2 stuff if you can't. Feel free to look me up on LBP.me and check out my LBP1 pinball level however, if you so desire

Thanks for the feedback! I'll make sure to fix that. Likewise, I have queued up your Score Pinball level, so... I'll play it when I have the shot.2011-04-17 03:01:00

Hey there!

I experienced the same as the krakken. Got inevitably blown up by the explosives(the player sensor was a dead giveaway, btw) and couldn't go back up. The spikes in the beginning there.. are you sort of supposed to platform across them?
Then you'll need to force the player into that layer, because the way it is now you can simply run behind them.

I think you need to work a lot on this level. Keep creating and draw inspiration from other creators!

Hey LG65,

I encountered the same problem mentioned above. The level so far, though, does present the beginning of an interesting plot.

One other thing I would look at is tree-gluing. I knocked over one or two near the sponge-end of the level.

Keep it up!

I tried it last night and was wondering if I missed something. After dying from the explosion, I came back out on top of the tree house then jumped down into it. When I couldn't do anything I did the "do-over" and came out the save point. This time I think it was a different save point because I ran through the tree house, picked up a picture, then saw the scoreboard. If you make any changes, let me know and I will play it again. In the mean time, if you get a chance, please try my level, "Are we there Yeti?"2011-06-28 12:02:00
