Hologram Collisions - Overload?

I am making a level that does a lot of "behind the scenes" collision work with holograms as a way of calculating the number of collisions between rows of objects that aren't actually touching. This seems to be a problem. I didn't think the game would be doing much more with hologram collisions besides a simple "yes/no", but they seem to be causing some issues. After a significant way in to the level, where there are about 8-10 hologram colliding at multiple points, other solid objects simply start falling apart. Has anybody heard of an issue like this?
