http://lbp.me/v/zwhry7 The actual level is here: http://lbp.me/v/zwhr7g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3XWLlEPY1U It's been a long time coming but I'm finally happy with it. http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots001.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots006.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots020.jpg More Pics http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots029.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots043.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots047.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots077.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots086.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots115.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots137.jpg http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/Sackrificed%20LBP2%20Level/Stillshots183.jpg Many thanks to: Yarudark, emoguy, dajdaj03, Bremnen, bagheadinc, inanmiacy, claptonfann, Jaeyden, comphermc & everyone who helped playtest. PFFFFFT!!!! Morgana made a level!? I must make haste and try this! Seriously. Maybe you'll even inspire me to not play WKC and start making levels. (And so you wont delete me off your friends list X_X) But that's not important! Morgana made a level. I have to go play this. | 2011-04-10 03:31:00 Author: Laharl Posts: 152 |
Very funny...this is why I never go on vacation. The actual level has some great platforming and is just beautful...really nice lava falls. Between this and Wizard it has been a good/fun day for LBP. | 2011-04-10 03:33:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
Just finished playing this one, and I must say that you have done it again. Your expert use of lighting and material combination create one of the most visually breathtaking levels ive seen thus far. And the platforming and Egg searching is fun to top the whole thing off! I will be back for more...especially now that I have the impervious pass and can now get those bubble combos i noticed below... Thank you for this one! Shawn btw...thanks for playing through my level with comph to make that vid...it is great! | 2011-04-10 03:53:00 Author: shawneboi Posts: 221 |
Looks great. I'll queue it up for later. | 2011-04-10 06:08:00 Author: Unknown User |
Some fun platforming in here, thanks for that. Visuals were pretty like always. I have it queued again to have a go at the fire run. Those bubbles in the lava were so confusing on the first play! Have you considered only emitting them if the sticker switch is activated? I got 13 eggs. Does the ending change if you don't grab any? Revenge of the thick layer foreground strikes again, but that's the way you build I guess. Nothing I can do to change your mind on the subject? EDIT: Understandable. | 2011-04-10 08:42:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
I played it and it was amazing, though I am surprised you managed to finish it between all the food-talk Oh, and I have claimed the 1st position on top of the scoreboard as well for now Yay! Must mention though I realized I had switched off 'collect community prizes' a little too late so I had to play it again to get it... Eventually I will get an even better score | 2011-04-10 12:36:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |
Fun little level, Morgana. It's not without its little niggles, but I think another week with it would have driven you bonkers! The opening movie is darn-near perfect, and the level badges are great. I've said everything else I needed to say in-game with my review. | 2011-04-10 14:16:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Nice to see you back Queued for the future | 2011-04-10 17:32:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
Played it, loved it, yay'd it, hearted it. The whole thing was excellent, and I love the eggs as secrets being given a part to the story later. I also replayed the level using the fireproof option, and it makes the level tons of fun even though every possible way of dying pretty much disappears. Nothing to fault, and I like how you don't tell us how many eggs there are compared to how most levels state the number of secrets they have lately. Opening movie was really nice too. | 2011-04-10 17:40:00 Author: Moonface Posts: 310 |
Thanks everyone for the plays and the kind words. That's a good point about emitting the bubbles. I could. I think I went with them in plain sight as a teaser to play again in firepoof mode. So people would understand that there were places you could go in that mode you can't go in regular mode. There are 15 total eggs. Each number has a unique line the Mama Phoenix says if you collect that number. If you collect no eggs the final cutscene is skipped and you don't get the sticker. I figured if you at least tried to find some I'd give out the sticker. I'm too easy about that sort of stuff lol. I am aware of the frustration of front layer glitch in platforming levels. I tried to make it pretty obvious where you could and couldn't jump because that drives me nuts too. I don't think I'll stop using the glitch though, it just brings another level of depth I can't resist. Fun little level, Morgana. It's not without its little niggles, but I think another week with it would have driven you bonkers! The opening movie is darn-near perfect, and the level badges are great. I think your're right - I had to get it out or go nuts. lol. The badge phoenix shape Bremnen did for me Many thanks to him. The font is from your level so thanks for that too. The opening movie was a lot of fun to put together and your fine tuning and cleanup on the more neglected areas really helped polish it up. Dajdaj03 had a lot of influence in there too (birds, music, posters & general artsy genius advice.) Played it, loved it, yay'd it, hearted it. Thanks! The fireproof mode idea just hit me in the car on the way home from work one night. I spent weeks trying to get it to work using bots and it all was going ok then I discovered a problem with bubble collection that I couldn't solve. Jaeyden gave me the solution to how to do the level without using the bots and it worked great! I'm so glad people seem to be enjoying it! Feels great to actually have a level under my belt in LBP2! | 2011-04-10 20:24:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Hey, already told you that I love this level! I love the volcano theme and you did a great job on all the lava effects and the scenery. And with a funny intro movie (oh Barbara...), and good platforming, we can only enjoy it! For me, we kinda lack of "classic" platforming levels on LBP2, so this level fills the void a little and in the best of ways! Also thanks for mentioning me, even though I dont feel I did much... | 2011-04-10 21:40:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
I WAS playing it, until I was dragged out of my room for a haircut. I loved what I saw, especially the little birdies. | 2011-04-10 21:44:00 Author: Maxi Posts: 1176 |
Loved it. The atmosphere was brilliant as always, and the platforming exceptional. As if we'd expect anything else, well done! | 2011-04-10 21:59:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
Stunning visuals, the lava looks amazing with those animated materials. It was a great level, although I did find the gameplay was a bit boring, it was all just 'run over there, swing on that sponge, jump on that bounce pad' with not much else to it. However the secret eggs did add a little to it I suppose. I rated yay. By the way, how did you do that fireproof mode? At first I thought it would be a sackbot, but it's not. *puzzled* Edit: Just thought I'd bring it to your attention that some people seem to be having trouble with checkpoints. I can't remember if they are, but if you've lethalised the checkpoints some people can't spawn from them without dying. | 2011-04-10 22:52:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
I fixed the checkpoints - was a theck on fire issue. How I did the fireproof is pretty simple - thick versus thin fire. all controlled by danger sensors turned on or off by the sticker switch. | 2011-04-10 23:04:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Played this today. A very solid platformer. Only minor nitpicks. The level was a bit dark. More than once I couldn't see the ledges, just had to jump around and guess. Also, the camera angle made it so you could barely tell where the jump pads were. Other than that, great replay value with the bird finding requirements. Well done. | 2011-04-10 23:10:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
Played this last night - terrific! Great layering and special effects, and I TOTALLY loved setting the phoenixes free! Had a hard time finding all the eggs - my son helped me get a few... he sat there and told me where I was going wrong all the way through. Definately a really high-class experience. Oh... I also realized I had never hearted you as a creator.... had to rectify that.... you've deserved it for, oh, several years. Great job! | 2011-04-11 02:26:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Thanks guys! Makes me smile to know you enjoyed it. @CCub - hope your son liked it too. I love to know what he thinks of my stuff. He has great taste! I added the mama & baby phoenix costumes in prize bubbles too. They have a fair ammount of dlc so sorry if you can't use them. They are in prize bubbles on top of the "bridge" area right before the bounce pads up to the lava chase. You'll need a grappling hook to get them Hey cool! I got my first review in Japanese! プロと思わせる完成している作品です。溶岩の表現も色々あって見応えあり。何と言っても、灼熱の溶岩洞窟を 抜けていくアクションがカッコイイ! Translation:This is reminiscent of work has been completed with the pros. Also available in a variety of spectacular lava expression. To say what action will cool the blazing through the lava cave? | 2011-04-11 02:41:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Congrats Morgana! So glad you finally got this done. Quite a lovely level with some fantastic lava and fire effects. I had a great time visiting and testing this from time to time and now that it is live I will queue it up and give it another play. ..though over 6700 unique plays in a day? Yikes!! ..oh and congrats on the bump into the cool levels. Figured I could return the favor. | 2011-04-11 02:50:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
:O The pheonix looks better from lbp.me than it does ingame lol Amazing level again morg! Travel Agents office is still hilarious. xD oh and.. The Rose bandit has struck! Muhahaha!! You will never find them all!! >:3 | 2011-04-11 02:56:00 Author: Bremnen Posts: 1800 |
When I saw this on the cool pages I was like "^_^ New Morgana level!!" :hero: Full review time... Sackrificed Score: 9.5/10 Rating: & <3 {:star::star::star::star::star:} By: Morgana A Simple plotline revolves around a very well put together level. Story: 9/10 Not very in depth, which is fine. It is very well put together though, and humorous at times. Music Choice: 10/10 The music is chosen perfectly! It fit in just great. Appearance: 10/10 People really are right about you. How you use tons and tons of lights. Because it's true! Which is a good thing btw The lights are what make the scenery work inside the volcano. They add so much depth to the material's texture. I also noticed you put a lot of effort in the fire. You didn't just use simple fire, you used waterfall but made it look like fire. Clever! Gameplay: 9.5/10 All original, and great. The collection of the eggs really add to the replay value which is a great idea. I feel like lots of creators don't have stuff in their levels that make you want to play it through again, but you, you are one smart cookie I'm a former PSPer where I've been through tons of volcano levels. And I asked myself a while ago why there aren't very many "lava rising" things on PS3. I could be missing them.. But you're the first to actually do it right. It looked great, worked great, and made me happy. Overall: 9.5/10 (not an average) Great stuff. After reading Comphermc's review I have to say thank you for recreating this from the beta. It's very well done and I want to play it again. I gave you a & a <3 If I was on LBP1 with the better rating system (in my opinion) I would give you a perfect 5 :star:s -Valmassoi | 2011-04-11 03:07:00 Author: anoken Posts: 1654 |
Didn't realize this had a movie intro. it wad pretty funny. I was also thinking about the level, I don't know what you have planned next, but as good as this level is, I didn't feel you really pushed the limits of LBP2. Looking toward to see what you so next. | 2011-04-11 16:38:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
Awesome work Morgana. One of the best platforms I've recently played. The volcano recreation was outstanding. The game play was very classic, but I have no complain about it. I have to tell you I got stuck just after jumping on the falling rocks, I had clearly to jump down to get to the front layer... but I couldn't. At first I thought it was my pad that got broken, and I even changed for another, but I still couldn't. Maybe I did something wrong, or I just suck. Anyway, I still hearted it, and I'll surely go back to it to finish it Good job! | 2011-04-11 17:38:00 Author: poms Posts: 383 |
Holy shnikies!!!! Morgana has an MM pick! Woo Hoo! (does a little happy dance) | 2011-04-11 18:00:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

What!? How did I miss the debut of this level? Aaah, why oh why didn't I call in sick today? going in the queue. Congrats on the MM pick, can't wait to play this | 2011-04-11 19:53:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
Congratulations on the Mm Pick, Morgy! Holy Crap! 16,000 plays in under two days!?! Fantastic. I left a review in game, but it's kinda buried. The level is absolutely beautiful, my friend. I didn't find all the eggs, though I could see some that I could not find a path to (grrr... you tricksy Morgy). The design and aesthetic of this level surpasses any that you have done to date. It is fun to play and jaw-dropping to behold. The fireproof option is brilliant on multiple facets - the foremost being replay, of course. It's a work of art. I love it, Morgana. Just LOVE it!! <3 | 2011-04-11 21:08:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
Brilliant level, Morgana! I can see why this level has been Mm picked. VISUALS: The volcano scenery is ultimately visualizing. It has such detailed corner edit and colorful lava details. The phoenix sackbots are well made too. The intro movie is hilarious. SOUND: Excellent use of "Victoria's Lab" interactive music and volcanic sound effects. GAMEPLAY: The usage of the grappling hook and grabinator are very good, and the secrets are unique too. The rising lava part is really cool. I haven't play this level the second time yet, but being fireproof sounds interesting, so I can get more score bubbles and phoenix eggs. OVERALL: An powerful level with such dynamic visuals and impressive gameplay. A yeah vote, a heart, and a positive review. | 2011-04-11 21:17:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
As far as I?m concerned you?ve got the secret formula for making the perfect fun platformer. It's a great mix ? fun jumping and grappling, bubble combos and cleverly hidden secrets, all topped off with gorgeous visuals and lighting. The whole volcano environment was brilliantly realised. I loved all the intricate nooks and crannies and different paths winding through the layers. The lava effects and the lighting were gorgeous. Your caverns shimmered and glowed and radiated heat ? just lovely. The phoenixes were beautiful too both the ones in the level badges and the sackbots. I loved the detail on the mother phoenix. I?ll have to go and replay now you?ve included her as a prize so I can see it all in close up. I had fun tracking down all the eggs and it's a lot more satisfying finding an egg that hatches into a baby phoenix before your eyes than just finding a stash of bubbles, however beautifully arranged! That was a great touch! The race to beat the lava added pace and excitement and the final cutscene was leaps and bounds ahead of a mere LBP1 secret counter, lol! Finally, being able to replay in fireproof mode was very cool. Having a feeling of godlike imperviousness was great, lol, although I couldn?t quite believe it would work and every time I leapt into the flames, I half-expected that this time I would be torched! Great level and I enjoyed my brief time at the top of the leader board until that honour was cruelly snatched from me by midnight-heist - ha! *thinks about asking theofficialia if she can borrow her mop to hit him with* (Apologies for gratuitous Twitter reference). I do hope you continue to make levels like this! | 2011-04-11 22:26:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
MM Picked? Well, congrats. | 2011-04-12 00:42:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
... as good as this level is, I didn't feel you really pushed the limits of LBP2. I am so glad she didn't push. While I appreciate the efforts of those creating all these new arcade and RPG sackbot levels, the thng I like about LBP is the platforming. I am very grateful to Morgana for creating a level that I will definitely play over and over again! | 2011-04-12 08:44:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hello there (and sorry about my english), I played your level earlier, and found that it was really enjoyable, fun to play, good platforming sequences and really beutiful sceneries, and even if I didn't found all of the eggs, searching them was fun. Good intro sequence too ! The only thing that I can mention is that the rising lava sequence was laggy, but still playable and enjoyable. Congrats about this very good level ! | 2011-04-12 11:18:00 Author: Slurm Posts: 262 |
This level is beautiful and show good use of the lighting system within LBP2. Everything was pretty awesome and i really liked the alternate ending to it Only thing you could probably fix is the lack of quality on the Phoenix.. I was a little disappointed when it showed up because it didn't really have much style to it. Maybe a non-sackbot Phoenix would work better? This level is definitely not one to miss out on! Played this last night and was really very impressed. Good Job. Great Visuals and a great atmosphere. Definately worth the play! | 2011-04-12 13:57:00 Author: Unknown User |
Just played your level and that was awesome! Here is some feedback.. +Awesome gameplay! A platformer with really original and fun gameplay! You made great use of diffirent Power-Ups and the obstacles were awesome! +The eggs were a great feature. I collected 11 Eggs! I loved the phoenix and they made a great animation. +Awesome scenery! Before playing the level, I thought that it all was going to be rock material without any stickers or something like that. But then realized that you made this level so that was almost impossible. And it is impossible! You made an awesome scenery with lots of details! I loved every bit of scenery I could see and the lava made it all even cooler! +The last part... That was ridiculous epicness! You have to be fast to not get burned by the lava. It's a really challenging part that gave me lots of fun while surviving for the lava. +There was an awesome atmosphere in this level! You really felt that you were dropped in a volcano. This atmosphere kept going untill the end! +I loved the intro! It's so epic and well crafted! Everything in there worked so properly. It was Perfect! The only thing you should do is.. When the intro ends, you should directly link the intro with the full level through level links. That's a lot easier then having to go back to your pod and then load the level. You can still let the full level visible (of course, who is going to make a Mm Picked level invisible ) but you should really link them together. I don't have any cons for this level! This level is one of the best ones on LittleBigPlanet2 and I enjoyed the last days on LBP2 a lot with your and comphermc's level. Those two levels were the best! I also have one little question. How many eggs are there throughout the level? For the rest... A fantastic level with an awesome atmosphere! The old platformers of LBP are back with a new and fresh LBP2 touch. This level also is filled with awesome scenery and a funny feature that really makes you looking through the whole level to find the eggs. For those who didn't played it yet.. Play it! It's really worth a play and I'm sure you will enjoy the adventure! A Very Big <3 and A Big for this epic adventure. And the last thing I want to say... Awesome work Morg! Keep up these awesome masterpieces! I can't wait for the next level you make. Signing off ~yoda97yoda | 2011-04-12 15:20:00 Author: yoda97yoda Posts: 121 |

I left a little big of a review in game, but I thought Id give you something a little more in depth. Here we go! What can I say, Morgana, youve done it yet again! The island theme accompanying the volcanic gameplay was fresh and fun, and there was never a dull moment. The opening cutscene was great and funny, and the level was top notch. I really appreciated the negativitron pipes as ropes, and the storyline was charming and fun. -PROS: -Really good idea with those eggs! I spent another 2 minutes in the level trying to backtrack to find them. You also did a really good job with hiding them! I only found 11! -The platforming sections were fun, and never felt boring! I especially liked the falling platforms and the rising lava sections! Very inventive! CONS: Nothing really, I got lost a few times for a short period of time. It was kind of unclear on where to go. Maybe add a few arrows, or even a few lights to show where to go. Other than that, nothing else got to me during the time I played it! Ill have to go back and play fireproof mode again! | 2011-04-12 15:36:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |
I also have one little question. How many eggs are there throughout the level? There are 15 total Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it! | 2011-04-12 15:47:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
This was pretty fun. The level looked incredible as expected and played well, with some fun platforming ideas to go along with it. Congrats on the MM Pick. Hopefully now that a true platformer is up there, people will calm down a little. Perhaps you've done a service to the community in that way. | 2011-04-12 16:12:00 Author: nextlevel88 Posts: 149 |
After playing this level, I really have to see that this is what I was really hoping to see from a LBP2 level one day. Well, here it is: a platformer that really abuses the new features that this sequel offers. The sackbot usage was cute and served to add replay value to this already long level. The visuals were some of the most popout visuals I have seen in a community level to date, and that's saying a lot, so you should feel very proud of yourself (I really admired the lava, lol). The multi-path gameply was also crazy good. I remember going through this level for the first time and experiencing all the different paths there were and just thinking "Wow... whoever created this came up with all of this." The other thing you did that most don't do is that you apparently have different endings? I've only played through this once, so I don't really know, but going off of what that last sackbot said, it seems that there are. Anyway, I both yay'd and hearted this level by the end of it. Great job! | 2011-04-12 21:56:00 Author: Scholarship Posts: 105 |

Hey Ms Morgana, here going to give my opinion, really was impressed with your level, as it always has a striking design, a very good use of the new additions to LBP2 also has a great start with this very good film, development level i've entertained a lot and the representation of the lava is so far one of the best things i've seen in the new game, and congratulations for making an excellent level Mmpick | 2011-04-13 04:00:00 Author: psyntens Posts: 562 |
Good to see you zoom up the Cool pages over the weekend (and that was before the pick). The intro movie made me laugh, and I thought 'fireproof' mode was a really great incentive to replay it, let alone finding all the eggs, very nice touch that. I had a few layer confuddlements with those xtra foreground layers in places and a lil bit of lag (you just can't resist can you!), but nothing worth worrying about. Congrats on the Pick! http://id.lbp.me/img/ft/57d8d81bec80616fa6b91f5808b4f07ff648daf1.jpg I find that snap hilarious. Its like some Sackboy 70's disaster movie. | 2011-04-13 19:32:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
