World War III [SPOTLIGHTED SERIES]

http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb435/WoodburyRaider/ProjectWorldBanner1.jpg

The year is 2013. The world has just overcome a chain of deadly natural disasters and a global economic crisis continues to hang over the heads of the World Powers. The United Nations (UN) has divided the world up into three sections, each with its own set of World Powers. These countries have been put in charge of providing relief for the developing countries in their faction of the globe. However, as gas prices rise throughout the world, a new source of energy is needed to fuel the World Powers and provide for their relief efforts. With the ongoing armed Conflict in the Middle East between Al-Qaeda and the United States, countries are beginning to choose sides based on their faction of the globe and ignoring the United Nation's requests for peace. If a new source of energy is not found soon, the war will expand and become the third World War, and inevitably end in mass destruction.

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a pretty ambitious project called "World." I don't want to reveal too much as of yet, but all I can say is that I have a few totally new ideas for gameplay effects and several never-before seen ideas. I'll be setting up a prologue for this project over the next few days/weeks and hopefully have that out soon. I'll be updating this thread with new information as I progress along with any information on a possible beta test for the level(s).
prologues? never-before seen ideas? ambitious?
sounds cool! good luck with it

Hey i couldn't help myself when I saw your project was called World Project. i believe you didn't really searched for any other project that would have the same name...

yeah... but I guess if the ^roject is aimed for PSP, maybe its acceptable, idk

That is indeed pretty impossible, having the same story. But we wouldn't want people to get confused... :/
So maybe change the name? Or make it clear it's PSP?

It is more than likely going to become a level chain but so far it's not a group project. I'll announce on this thread if I will be opening this to become a community project but so far it isn't yet and the story will remain a secret for a little while longer.

I'm not going back on anything I said so far. To clarify (and confuse everyone even more), everything I originally said about there being multiple levels still remains true...

Update 3: [4/16/11]
The prologue has been revealed...

If a new source of energy is not found soon, the war will expand and become the third World War, and inevitably end in mass destruction.

The 1st story will be out right before the 1st level is released so stay tuned for more. The details of the prologue are subject to change but the basis of the storyline will remain the same.

I'm working on another banner currently. Also, I came up with more ideas for my prologue and will continue work on that this weekend. @Nysudyrgh (is that right?) - I'm so sorry but I completely forgot to send you that PM! I'll send it right away now! Anyone else who wants a sneak peek at the first of three stories, just ask!

EDIT:

Hey thanks for your advice man. It turns out I had copied the wrong code (I had multiple versions) and never checked to see if it was the sepia-toned one or the black and white. I fixed it and added the [I]new one.

I just wanted to update this to let you guys know I'm still working on it. I renamed the project "Modern World" and as you can see by my sig, there is something called "Crisis" involved. I finished writing the story, planned the levels, and am about halfway done with the prologue. Be ready for a project that will blow your minds.

Thanks man! I'm 70% done with my first level. All I have yet to do is add in one more section of environment and add in score bubbles. I'm not going to build up anymore hype for this level because I want the level to do the talking. Also, I could've sworn PSP's supported all type of internet connections. It could be that you just need a password to connect and your parents should have that, but I could be wrong too.

Well I know what it is. The security setting must be set on "wpa2" and the PSP doesn't support it. I had the same problem.
But now my PSP can't even find my SSID and THATS WIERD! :kz:

Try to keep comments like these to VM's.

Now, about the series, I'm currently beta testing the 1st level which is 90% done. I don't want to give a specific deadline, but it'll be out sooner than you can say Kindred.

Since I'm still pushing for this project to be original, I gave it a name change to avoid confusion with a PS3 project titled "Project World." RA DLRO is a code that stands for, something...

Now I have a quick question that hopefully anyone can answer. Is there a red sticker under the "Decorative/Decorations" section that is like the "Blue Half-Tone" sticker or the "Yellow Fade" sticker? Yes, this means I'm at that "sticker stage."

Thanks man. I take it there isn't a normal sticker like I described then?

EDIT: I took a look and at those two levels you suggested, but they didn't have what I was looking for. The sticker I'm looking for isn't in the "Colors" section but the "Decorations" section. The fade is just a bunch of small pixels and I assume there is a red one because I have blue, green, and yellow. Also, I wouldn't be able to use any of those from the showcases because I need it for a level icon not in my level. Does anyone else know if there's a red sticker like I'm looking for?

if you click "reply with quote" on woodburys second code, part of the file name of the picture is:

Ca------------------has ---- inve---------- --nu? Ge-- ----ed to ----e---- d------y -------es.
so i guess that's the code?

schark. i don't know.

also nysudyrgh's code was:

Heh, you actually took the time to translate this.
You must've been really bored to do that ...
true.

also. i translated woodbury's code by searching "3D barcode decoder" on google.

Hey, "tah three of live" was also awesome.
I will finish my pirates level soon (I hope) but I wanted to ask something...
Is it still worth to make levels on the PSP? I mean much people already left LBP PSP (and the PSP forum too) for LBP2 and the PSVita is incoming. Also there are still spamming noobs like "yellowdet" and the other guys so that it doesn't make fun anymore to create levels...

It says: Conflict is a wave based shooter. Zombies? No. Special Ops? Better.

agreed. i searched for ages trying to do it but it wouldn't work
something to do with 1D barcodes doesn't work.
The last 1D barcode i only got because you clumsily left the code in the filename.

Believe it or not, that time I actually meant to put it there since I couldn't figure out how to make it work. XD This time though, I just made it especially challenging. Trust me, it works. It just might not be what you think it is. Think outside the box people.

Very clever.
I think i know what you are getting at that the barcode has nothing to do with it and it was to confuse us, but i still can't work it out.
I have tried to see if it was a multi-layered image or if there was a RAR hidden inside the file but there was none as far as i could see (but i could be doing it wrong).
i'll keep at it to see what i can do.

EDIT: i just found it (I think?).
EDIT:No I didn't

I believe this is writen in binary, the numericial digits that the computer can read !! I have a sheet at the house telling me all the letters and numbers in binary, but I couldn't be bothered looking for it !!

So, this will still remain a mystery to me !

I've never tried to figure this out until now, it is indeed actually super easy lol.

Conflict is not the only about developing good ideas for the new levels but about seriously pushing the PSP.

There's a weirdly placed the and the sentence ends quite aprubtly, but I hope this is the solution...

(For anyone wondering: if you look at al his previous posts, you'll notice that many words are written in italic letters, and when all of them are written down this is the result.)

So what GMT is that? So I could count it easly it's the 20:00 in GMT +2.00 ?

Or +0.00 ?

And why didn't you add the GMT on your fancy poster?

In the US we just use the four time zones here. Starting from closest to GMT it goes Eastern (-5), Central (-6), Mountain (-7), Pacific (-8). The reason I clarified with the GMT comment is because without a (#), it just means +/- 0.00 and I expected that to be understood... =P

For further clarification, the release will happen at 4:00 PM GMT -6. (4+6=10) so that would be 10:00 PM GMT 0.

Capiche?

It's not? Mah edumacation haz falled meh.

Anyways, time for some spoilers on the upcoming release. One of the levels is the largest map I have ever created. There are different environments that essentially make up 4 different biomes. Another level, in my opinion, is my best to date. It contains RPG elements, platforming sequences, and various ideas from other genres. I'll keep the rest a secret for now.

Due to my busy schedule and other interests, I will likely not finish the World War III series. The story’s thrilling finale was set to be released after a second survival challenge, but it looks like I will only have time for the eighth and final story level bringing the grand total to nine in the series.

To make things interesting, I will only publish this level if someone can figure out a scavenger hunt I put together. The search begins in my signature, and ends with a specific sentence. You have exactly one week to figure this out and may work together. Reply to this thread with the correct phrase by the deadline, and I will finish the final level. Good luck, your time starts now.

Countdown. (http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/fullscreen.html?mode=m&iso=20120810T1645&year=2012&month=8&day=10&hour=16&min=45&sec=0&p0=179&fg1=808080&fg2=444&msg=Conviction)

Well. I have found some stuff in your sig. Why do all your LEVELS start with C? All the links have the word CENTRAL in them...

I'll investigate deeper and edit my post.
