Well for some reason our lbp.me widget is gone...So heres a link: http://lbp.me/v/zw2-1d Hey everyone! Long time no see huh? Well im coming out of my shell to tell you that our (Sabre_ and I) new level, Vinery is now live. Its published under Sabre_'s psn. Its a level that has 3 themes that come together for a unified experience. We paid close attention to detail in this level while still trying to give a good platforming experience. Hopefully our hours of work paid off in regards to that. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor as much as we did building it. Many thanks to Xx_Mr_Orange_xX, Jocko99, PSYTENS, Bmoney2310, Danielmt8, Alley_Cat_8633, and strider0317 for playtesting and suggestions. If we forgot anyone then please tell us so we can add you to the list also Pics of Persuasion http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c19/Rahsaan1/LBP2/valley.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c19/Rahsaan1/LBP2/cave.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c19/Rahsaan1/LBP2/forest.jpg | 2011-04-09 21:20:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |

I LOVE CLASSIC PLATFORMERS!!! Sorry...it had to be said. Anyway...this level was good fun throughout...loved the challenging yet never frustrating platforming, clever use of objects and stickering...and overall beautiful design. No complaints...just stopping by to give props. Shawn | 2011-04-10 04:17:00 Author: shawneboi Posts: 221 |

Really fun level guys, well done. Fantastic job on the scenery, very layered and intricate in places and it was just a great level to play. Nice to see how many good levels are coming through now! | 2011-04-10 12:43:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
Queued it, will do F4F on this | 2011-04-10 12:51:00 Author: Blanchrocker Posts: 142 |
YES! Played this beauty yesterday. It was a gorgeous masterpiece! The platforming was top notch. The visuals were out of the park. The style was so "natural". It was executed amazingly. The little grape bubbles were a cute touch. The underground river...MY GOD! <3 This level was just good ALL over. I CAN'T WAIT to see more! Yayed! and hearted. F4F: Mind playing my level and giving back feedback here? Thanks! I saw this level in my Recent Activity and checked it out, and I was stunned. The first areas are so vibrant and the grape bubbles were wicked. Then you fall down into the underground sections and it literally blew me away. The visuals were absolutely excellent the whole way through, and the river race was so much fun! I like how you altered the style at the end by using apples/oranges/whatever they're meant to be instead of grapes at the end, and going all the way around the waterfall to reach the end was brilliantly done. Definitely one of my favourite levels I've played recently. | 2011-04-10 17:44:00 Author: Moonface Posts: 310 |
This level looks pretty good judging by the pictures . Queued and ill leave a review on your page. | 2011-04-10 19:30:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hi Lightmare, played your level earlier, it seems you ( and Sabre) have perfected the art of creating a platforming level. Im a fussy one for atmosphere, lighting and little details, and your level excelled in it, well done. The vines hanging and dangling were lovely, as with the underground part ( i loved the crystal spikes, very cool). I rated your level 'yay' and <3, well done F4F, could you do my movie level 'The Machiniac' in my sig, thanks | 2011-04-10 19:45:00 Author: Blanchrocker Posts: 142 |
That was a great level. It nailed the design I've always wanted to create and had fun gameplay as well. Nice job. | 2011-04-10 20:21:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
you failed at writing L1GhTmArE in the description | 2011-04-10 20:34:00 Author: Unknown User |
This level was amazing. It is obvious that you two put a lot of time into this creation. I loved: -Clever use of the grappling gun -The imaginative use of water. It was beautiful -efficient use of space (you packed a lot there) -The challange (that log ride was awsome!) I literally found nothing wrong with this level. Should be MM pick Great Work, J | 2011-04-10 20:59:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks everyone for playing and were very happy its being well recieved so far Also glad nobody really thinks its too hard. You can thank Sabre_ for that lol. I wanted something more difficult but he kept that in check for the whole level. We both will play your levels asap Noribito and my fellow steampunk creator Blanchrocker and leave a review. Thanks again! | 2011-04-10 21:02:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
I wanted something more difficult but he kept that in check for the whole level. Making it harder would have ruined the pace. I died a fair bit anyway! (as I do) Anyway, sorry I couldn't get testing, I've been a bit busy. | 2011-04-10 22:04:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
I will queue Vinery. Here's my level for F4F https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=54679-Upside-Dizzy | 2011-04-10 22:09:00 Author: Unknown User |
I love levels that have deep visuals, but not so much that it takes away the gameplay! | 2011-04-10 22:21:00 Author: nk827 Posts: 193 |
You guys published something new!!! And it has a log ride? You had me at Log! [EDIT]: Just played it now, heres what I think! -Foreword: You two have truly outdone yourselves with this masterpeice. Everything here is fresh, and the visuals, though almost all of it greenery, you guys managed to keep it fun and entertaining! Decorations mustve been the hardest part of construction, because everything is in the perfect spot! Im still trying to figure out what parts are materials and what are Stickers! Pros: -Everything! I dont think anything I saw in this level was to my dislike! I especially liked the flowing water in the front layer! -Your gameplay ideas are fun and inventive, and theres always something new to like at every turn! Never got boring, and there was something to like for everyone here! -Negatives: -Nothing, I dont even think I should include this section. Absolutely loved it! I left a review, and Hearted you both as an author. Thanks for the awesome level! | 2011-04-10 22:25:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |
Hmmm, a platformer you say? Some strange new kind of gamestyle in LBP2? I must see it! Got it queued. | 2011-04-10 22:46:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
Spikes protruding out of hole! >:| (on tree branch) That is all. (a deja vu moment from Umbra Valley) Everything else was ok, using the grapple to pull down the bubbles is a good gameplay element. As usual everything looked nice. Oh, some foreground stuff kind of got in the way at the start there. For example the waterfall obscuring the player on the grab ceiling while going uphill. You could also make the drop down to the logs a little more forgiving, by adding some ceiling sponge below or opening up the rocks, so the player can clearly see the log coming. I could go on with a few similar elements, but some are personal preferences. | 2011-04-11 06:44:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
@Talbot -Yeah I had to make sure L1ght didnt make it to hard lol Thanks everyone for playing our level, we put in alot of time in making it fun and enjoyable as possible without it being to hard to complete. Thanks again for all the positive feedback we appreciate it. | 2011-04-11 16:13:00 Author: Sabre_ Posts: 653 |
Yeah, I'm glad you guys didn't make much harder, the second log drop has a bit of a blind spot, where you can't really see it coming - and the only part that was hard was the double fire hazard jump through. Other than those nitpicks, a stellar looking forest level that was challenging and fun. Good job. | 2011-04-11 16:30:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
Level looks incredible guys. I don't think you could have tried to make a prettier platformer. The gameplay was innovative in most spots and stands out from most of the platformers out there. Team L1GhTSabre is a force to be reckoned with. I have a lot of praise for this level, but I feel that I would be doing you both a disservice if I didn't offer constructive feedback. Vinery has the potential to be one of the best platformers out there, but there are a few things that frustrated the hell out of me The level is hard and punishing, to be accurate. Generally speaking, most jumps require a lot of precision. Jump a bit too early or late, and you're dead. I can see this enraging a lot of kids. I'm a 30-year old seasoned gamer, and I died a lot from missed jumps that dumped me into a lethal hazard. The first place I got stuck was in the first room with the waterfalls where you have to jump over the gaps, then monkey across the ceiling. I was playing with my girlfriend, and we both must have died thirty times. The gaps you clear by jumping up to the top are pretty wide to begin with. I'm not a very good monkeyer, and I fell many many times before getting across. Usually at the part where you're completely obscured by the right hand waterfall. It's an uphill climb and you can't see what you're doing. I usually ended up falling to my death, and to be perfectly honest, I almost quit out of the level here too. Why is there no checkpoint at the top? The log waltz was another part that was pretty difficult, as was mentioned. A few places I found were a tad unclear where to go. I did notice your attempts to warn players of hazards or point them in a direction, but some of the stickers didn't really jump out at me right away (probably because my eyes were too distracted by the rest of the beautiful surroundings). One of the places was after the second monkey bars section where you monkey across one platform, then drop to another monkey platform. And the end of this second one, it took me a minute to realize there was a gap in the wall that led into the next room. Overall, a superb effort and I don't doubt this will do well on the cool pages. If you choose to ease up on the difficulty, I think this could land on the most hearted/most played pages. Fantastic job! | 2011-04-11 18:45:00 Author: Thegide Posts: 1465 |
This week has seen some great levels published and this one is right up there with them. You packed in such a lot of different cool gameplay elements and the whole thing looked just wonderful to boot. It had so many great little touches it's hard to know where to start. Using the grappling hook to ?pick? the grape bubbles was inspired and the log race had me on the edge of my seat - those fire jumps were challenging but a lot of fun. The visuals were lovely too. The best bit for me has to be the moment when you first fall down into the underground caverns. I just stood there taking it all in ? superb. I?m so glad you?re still making great platforming levels in LBP2. <3 | 2011-04-11 19:59:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
Another creative level from the dynamic duo! VISUALS: The forest scenery is brilliant. The vines, trees, and waterfalls are neatly detailed, and the materials are well corner edited. SOUND: Great use of "Eve's Asylum" interactive music. GAMEPLAY: The level has some excellent usage of the grappling hook and bounce pads. The racing part is quite ingenious too, even if I failed to score points during the race. OVERALL: An very artistic forest level with outstanding gameplay. A yeah vote, a heart, and a positive review. | 2011-04-11 21:02:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
@TheGide -I understand you point on the jumps being accurate lol when I made that area I didn't realise it was like that until the after we were done with all of the details because I was hitting the jumps perfectly. So we'll probably go back over the level and see what to make easy so people can have fun playing it and not die alot in some areas . And after the waterfall part we didn't put a checkpoint up there becasue we had a checkpoint in the next area waiting already. Thanks again for the feedback we appreciate it. @JustinArt & Shropshire -Glad you enjoyed it | 2011-04-12 01:21:00 Author: Sabre_ Posts: 653 |
Hey bro! because if it is finally here in LBP2 level the obstacles and patterns that characterized them in LBP is a long level and that is one of the things for which you will enjoy the level, it's fun, has a clean design and a very proper use of attachments LBP2, i liked very much the use of stickers and decorations and the idea of converting it to bubbles in clusters of grapes is quite original, could not miss the difficulty of its levels and of course it is very well achieved. Thanks for letting me test this level since its inception and very good job. YAY!!! | 2011-04-13 04:11:00 Author: psyntens Posts: 562 |
Okay well after playing this level I was amazed and speechless. The visuals, gameplay, and even the grapeshaped score bubbles. Theres nothing wrong with this level at all. Its pretty much perfect lol. Theres a mini log race, interesting bounce pad mechanics, and smart layer movement. bravo bravo!! lol /thumbs way up | 2011-04-13 06:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
I played it the other day and I was really impressed by the graphics. The corner edit, the right amount of decorations and the fluid game play makes me wonder how can something like this be surpassed. Of course hearted. Awesome job guys. | 2011-04-13 13:22:00 Author: poms Posts: 383 |
I played it today. Visuals and sound are great. I didn't occur many problems. One part was kinda frustrating which was I think the second log part where you have to jump on the bounce pad then quickly grab the sponge material swinging to the end and dropping, then grabbing the other sponge material and swinging then landing. Nothing major though. Good level. | 2011-04-14 07:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
Ok, I meant to write a review a while back since playing it a few weeks back. I did however commented on the level from the comment when I completed the level. I've always felt both you and Sabre have what it takes to be one of the top creators, even though you felt not as worthy. Now that that's out of the way, I can start on my review. The use of materials blended very well together. Using the builders concrete blocks was a nice touch as an accent to the eve's material. Very surreal. The grapes as point bubbles was also a nice touch. I really enjoyed the challenge part where you have to time the jumps on the logs and over the fire danger. Forgot how many times I had to attempt it before getting across. Frustrating at times, but never the less, fun. Now as for the lighting, I found myself having to really look carefully at some areas to figure out what I needed to do. Not a bad thing, considering it forced me to look at all my surroundings. A very pleasing and detailed surrounding. Well done guys. I do hope you guys are planning on something to continue this level as it was extremely fun for me. I look forward to more Awesome levels from you guys. Thanx for the level and a Yay and a heart from me | 2011-04-17 05:29:00 Author: tripple_sss Posts: 250 |
I honestly have no idea but I fell out of your level and found this http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/f1c8a32716ce0d3af3bbd4f395e751d819dbf40e.jpg http://ib.lbp.me/img/ft/f9badd503c396dd4ce54a2fc13c9047907d00a8e.jpg | 2011-04-17 14:06:00 Author: anoken Posts: 1654 |
LOL wow thats very wierd! Where were you when it occurred? At the end of the race? | 2011-04-17 15:13:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
LOL wow thats very wierd! Where were you when it occurred? At the end of the race? Yea it was that section right before te scoreboard comes up. I was playing it a second time With my friend online (it was a bit laggy) and we both fell right through the ground!! Weird. But anyways I really enjoyed this level. The visuals blend perfectly with simple but fun gameplay. You got <3 from me | 2011-04-17 18:04:00 Author: anoken Posts: 1654 |
Thanks for the heart . But yea ...we dont know what happened there. We tried to recreate what ever happened but we couldnt get past the gas...so we put some extra hazards below the level so we wont get anymore pics from down under. Were still going to search for whatever happens in that area though. We went in create mode and some wierd stuff was happening in that whole area that didnt make any sense : | 2011-04-18 05:20:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
Played this a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Thought it was a clever way to collect bubbles with the clusters. The lighting in the lower levels was really nicely done too. Gameplay was enjoyable and not too hard which made it fun. Great job! Smiley faced and hearted. | 2011-04-18 07:00:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Started this level just earlier, and of what I've played so far, it's great! But then I got to this part and broke it. http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/d6ae4199ddf4127d7923e137dac633f18bf50860.jpg (Grabbing the switch with a grapple hook and then holding close to the bounce pads seems to cause levitation, oops!) I'll try to finish it later! Hearted and liked. | 2011-05-20 01:07:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
