You may have noticed that Clive and Avalon seem to be at ends with each other during Story Mode. And then there was the picture of Avalon in Higgenbotham's room, which he had been throwing darts into. http://i52.tinypic.com/2j6adja.jpg But then there was the graduation picture in Da Vinci's levels. Da Vinci mentions in a later level that the "Institute of Inspiration" was "a simpler time, a better time." I'm assuming that's where they were graduating from. http://i55.tinypic.com/bi46dj.jpg Something must have happened between the Story Mode and whenever that picture was supposed to have happened. So, what was it? And what was the Institue of Inspiration?

I've never noticed those pics on LBP2's story. Where did you found them? The graduation pic is in Rookie Test; the dart-board Avalon is at the very end of Casa Del Higgenbotham.

Its because Mm changed the story late on. Avalon was meant to be a villian but then thay changed it and must have forgotten to take the darts and picture away.
