cutscene question

Archive: 7 posts

aaargh, I'm still having trouble getting this to work right. I have a cut scene that starts right when you enter the level, problem is, it shows my sackboy entering the level for a split second before going to cutscene. How do I fix this?2011-04-09 02:27:00

Hook up a battery to the sequencer that your cutscene is on. That way, it will start before you enter the level. It will still show the entrance but you won't come out of it.2011-04-09 03:13:00

This isn't too fancy, but you could just put a box of dark matter around the checkpoint, then stick a thin square of material onto the front of it (trapping the player) then sticker the material black. You can still hear the player spawn but the black square should hide the checkpoint. try using this combined with Joey9898's suggestion to completely hide the checkpoint and sackboy. 2011-04-09 16:56:00

I would turn off the lights, then on your sequencer, have the first thing be a global lighting changer to turn them on.2011-04-09 17:29:00

Just place a mag sencer, then a mag key in the sencer's range. The cutscene will start right away and not show the checkpoint, or here the sound. You can start with any lighting or shot you want. When you are in create mode, you most likely spawn in pause, change the collor of the key or switch so that when you press up, it does not start. Right before you change to play mode, just change the key back to the same collor.

It works so well...

The battery is the best option.
But I suggest you leave it disconnected, or everytime you unpause your level it will play the cutscene. Leave a note right at the entrance reminding you to "activate" the cutscene.

thanks guys, will try these and see which one works best for me.

well I tested and what worked best for me was the battery idea from joey9898. It works smooth as glass. thankyou joey, you win a firm handshake.
you know what's funny, is my dumb self just put the camera on the sequencer and of course it didn't work right, but I got everything sorted and is working like a charm. Thanks guys
