Is there a limit to how many stickers you can use before it starts glitching?

I'm making a level and it's pretty much all cardboard and I'm colouring it with stickers. It looks good but after using so many stickers some parts appear as plain uncoloured cardboard even though I coloured it. It then goes back to normal and it will keep doing this every so often.2011-04-05 20:27:00

Well i found that stickering the object with one BIG sticker of the main color saves some. Or sticker other objects and just put the thing together. Like, you want a black cardboard square with a cardboard red hand on it. Color the sqaure and color the hand. Copy the hand and delete a said area of the sqaure, then place the hand. Then smir the to pieces together with an uncolored piece of cardboard... Hope you understand...

Two mins after posting...
Just reread your post, um try not having the whole thing one piece, cut it up...

It sounds like the sticker glitch mentioned in this forum a couple times, But i always heard it was in relation to the size of the stickers as opposed to the amount. I could be wrong though.2011-04-05 21:26:00

The size might be the problem. What I'm doing is having a brick type wall and each piece is 4x8 so I colour that and then copy and paste it etc. The ones that have glitched so far seem to be the longer pieces which are 2x80 or something. I would make it into a couple pieces rather than just 1 long one but they you have that line showing the division which is kinda ugly.2011-04-05 21:53:00

It doesnt matter how many stickers you have or how big they are, it glitches randomly.2011-04-05 21:54:00

Well that sucks. I don't know if I should even continue making it since I just started so I haven't put that much time in it.2011-04-05 21:58:00

I think I am having the same problems, only the stickers appear on materials which have no stickers...bleeding into materials...I didn't use many and never had a message saying I was using too much...its a real problem and I emailed the bug to Mm over a year ago...2011-04-05 22:56:00

Yeah it also seems thermo based...but it may be just another unrelated cause. I made an entire forest and city levle with brick stickers, grass stickers, leave stickers over the entire thing. Larger items did seem more prone, but I have several items with no stickers on them that are glitched, and the city can sometimes be glitch less. I think the size of the item it is on also can weigh in...and I have tried making the small sections off screne that will pull the sticker glitch off of the visible play area...but that only works some of the time. So I always figured it was several items that could cause it, which is why it is so hard to work around. The last scene in a level I made plays sticker glitchless when I first made it, then I placed it in the level and it still played perfectly, then I showed someone the ending back in the empty level I had made it in and it appeared?2011-04-06 02:01:00

It isn't thermo based. You'll notice that if you hover away from glitchy/laggy areas it all goes away (not literally, just the lagging). It is just because there is a lot of stickers in one place, except hovering away won't make this problem go away.2011-04-06 03:10:00

Yes, there is a limit. What is it? I don't know. It's exactly the same as it was in LBP1 and it's a major headache. It affects every vehicle level I've published.

The lamest thing is when someone makes something and plasters it in layers and layers of stickers and it's fine yet when you're really careful and use one sticker per object it still messes up. Another lame thing is that explosions create loads of stickers which robs you of even more sticker space.

That is where I have to question it a little, I the one level I had with tons of stickers has no glitching until the thermo got high...and the other I have on LBP2 has very few stickers, mostly small signs, and nothing taking up large areas, yet I get massive stickers appearing in random loactions in the level that have zero stickers onthose surfaces, and not that my jet level is nearing thermo peak, I have just started seeing a jet sticker a third the size of the ship appearing, the original is about half the size of the sackboy and located in one little part of the carrier only. All I have noticed is the smaller the object is the less I have noticed the glitch.

So far the only major issue I've encountered has to do with the size of the object stickered. Trying to sticker the entire back wall of my top-down level was more than problematic, because the bottom and right edges simply will not hold sticker assets. The amount of unstickerable space is directly proportional to the size of the object I'm trying to cover with stickers.... if I shrink this shape down, the unstickerable space shinks proportionally, and at a certain (rather small) size, it disappears altogether.2011-04-06 10:47:00

Yeah, e.g- Halfway through making my LBP1 level SWITCH I found that all the stickers started glitching so I tried to take some off, wouldnt work, I tried spliting my level up, wouldnt work so I was left with one half very colourful and pretty and the other just boring sandpaper and cardboard.2011-04-06 12:16:00

same sticker issues that were in LBP1 ...guess I'll just use thin layer materials & neon shapes in place of stickers in my level (was hoping they fixed this)2011-04-06 15:43:00
