Mm may have patched the use of special costume items like the crown and limited edition stuff. They also covered the DLC costumes. They did however forget to block the costume skin materials. You can trade skins with people in create mode by putting in on a sackbot and letting your friend copy it as a costume or you can give them away as prizes on a sackbot. Eventually this will definitely be patched, so make sure you don't use them in any levels you're building or publish. If you do you may lose access to that level and all your work may be difficult to get back.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. You can recieve and use skins from DLC that you do not own! Normally ou can give costumes away on sackbots but the other person can't use them if they don't have the DLC. The other person doesn't need the DLC to use skins that they don't own. For example. I don't own any of the rag doll kung fu costumes. But, I picked up a costume as a prize in a level of an ordinary guy in a suit. I have a level on my moon where i keep all the cool sackbot costumes that i find in levels. So I washed the stickers off of them and found I also had the Zangief from Street Fighter costume. Myself and a friend tried it out and he was able to give me 4 or 5 skins from DLC that I don't own!

Well, they're the skins tho, who REALLY cares about those tbh? If they really wanted to, they could as easly make stickers that look like the skins and place them on a skin of similar material. But really its not a bg deal if you ask me, pieces are useful and noticable, skins are slightly useful (sometimes), but mostly ignored or stickered over.
