LittleBigPlanet 3 anyone?
I'd like to be able to easily take out the hard drive and put it into another PS4 in case my old one breaks. Xbox 360 can do it, why can't PS3?
Also, a price reduction to ?0.01, if possible.

You can do that currently. Go here (http://us.playstation.com/psn/playstation-home/) and scroll down, you'll see a list of the scheduled "showcase" games they've got lined up. Next LBP2 event is on April 17th. I found the feature to be buggy and/or broken, but in LBP1 I was able to successfully launch into a party with a random person to gad about with.

Improved R2 and L2 shoulder buttons please.

What's wrong with the shoulder buttons currently?

Anyways, Sony has been very clear with their 10 year life cycle philosophy, which means you won't see (http://technologizer.com/2011/02/17/playstation-4-sonys-not-even-thinking-about-it/) Sony's next-gen system until at least 2015 or 2016. At that time, I'm hoping they'll have at least ten times the processing speed/power, vastly expanded memory, a truly next-gen online network, dedicated physics processing, and improved graphics capability. And release the system for under $400 on release day.

10 year life cycle doesn't mean they'll be waiting 10 years after the PS3 launch to do the PS4, both the PS1 and PS2 have had a 10 year life cycle with about half of it being after their successor has launched.

Yeah, backwards compatibility.
Especially with all these newer PS3 games we have.

How do you expect them to keep the PS2/ PS3 alive after it comes out then?
Probably the only readon PS3 isn't PS2 compatible (not anymore at least.) is most likely to keep the PS2 going, since they saw it was still kinda selling.

Making it bw compatible would mean ther's no more reason for anyone to buy PS2 = -$
You should know by now, sadly Videogames are rarely built in consumer interest and more in $$$ interested nowdays.

Yah, it's to sell stuff like sly/GoW trophy bs to people who already paid for it before.
But yeah, the bottom line is profit, and I would be very surprised if BC happened.

Presuming PS3 were to never get this, if a PS4 has an XMB menu I'd like to be able to have a bit more freedom with it in terms of what goes on it. I never use a lot of the things on my XMB, and it'd be great to have the option to disable them from appearing through some options menu in the Settings area.

I'd also like to see a better browser, because the current one sucks a lot in many aspects. I find I have to use a crap version of YouTube (some mobile type version) that doesn't have quality above 240p because the PS3 can't use the proper YouTube page correctly, especially to search for things. It also doesn't seem to read a lot of CSS very good either. It's not even half as good as IE, and that's saying something.

Cheaper price or at least a reasonable one. Granted I'd probably buy the thing regardless how much it is because I said I'd never buy a PS3 on launch day due to the price, and that was easier said than done. And if they put a PS logo near the disc tray like the original PS3, make it so the **** thing doesn't come off easily. I had to super glue mine back on because it started to lift off.

Release it before the Xbox 720? If it's released before, and has more power than Xbox, then devs might actually do good ports
And I can see why the R2 and L2 could do with a slight change. If you put the controller down, you have the risk of the surface pushing R2/L2. And R2 usually leads to a grenade

In LBP2 it leads to skipping through level menus incredibly quickly when on the level pages. I don't know if it will load up more pages as it goes down automatically but if it did I'd love to see the look on a persons face who didn't know their controller could do that and had scrolled through 1000 levels or some stupid amount. XD

Actually, the reason they couldn't include PS2 compatibility in the later PS3 models is because it was way too expensive. That's why the early PS3s were $600 - And even at that price, Sony was losing money because the production cost was higher than the selling price! That's why they came out with the later PS3 models at $300 and no PS2 backwards compatibility.

Anyways, I read in an interview somewhere that the PS4 is most likely going to start development in 2015 or something, but I could be wrong. I'd like to see all that stuff schm0 mentioned.

Makes a lot of sense ^

That explains why my 80gb ps3 was cheaper than my brothers older ps3 but lacked the compatibility.I do miss the ability to play Hitman, or shadow of the colossus. The only ps2 games still worth playing :/

It's kind of weird that you mention the PS4 because earlier this week i walked into a gamestop with my dad, he asked the guy. " So you got any Playstation 4s?" " No sorry sir they had them but they got washed away in the tsunami in Japan...*Looks at other workers* Is it too soon guys?.. Yeah probably too soon."

Anyway I DONT want a new system just for the fact that I don't want to pay for it. I'm fine with Xbox 360, and PS3, they're good systems

2014 sounds like a good year for PS4 if you ask me.
i also think they should wait to make the next LBP until then,
as there's not much point right now has they can't really make a better new LBP
with the PS3 at it's limit like it is with LBP2 right now.

That's because the XBox controller is retarded. But I digress.

I think the shoulder buttons work just fine.

Only reason PS3 didn't do as well is it's price point. In terms of pure computing power, the PS3 knocks the socks of the XBox. It's why they're being networked to create supercomputers on the cheap. Problem was, the increased hardware specs made the game platform difficult to develop on. You're only now seeing the true potential of what can be achieved with the hardware.

I want Crysis 2 even though I'm very mediocre at FPSs for the graphics alone.

Yeah, but it also came out later so most devs had already been using the 360. I know the fact that it's harder to develop games on PS3, but coming out a year later also contributed to that

Well if you've played any shooters, (CoD) for example, it definitely is an issue if you set your controller down anywhere as it ends up holding down the button and then you have to release your grenade or it will automatically. I enjoy the PS3 but I'm no fanboy so I'd have to say that the Xbox controller is better, but only for those two shoulder buttons as the joystick placement is a little rough.

Well, in compensation, the PS3's shoulder buttons are awesome for racing games, because they simulate the gas/brake pedals nicely.2011-04-06 00:57:00

True, but the Xbox ones do so too, and I assume they can get the best of both controllers.

There's not that much I think really needs to be changed, just little things.

Another vote for an improved browser.
I'd like to see some more ports too. I liked how the PS3 fat had and SD, compact flash and another port I can't remember on the front, it really made it a true media center. A couple of USB ports at the back would be good for things like PS Eye and such.
Being able to install Linux again would be great too.

Imo the PS3 is an almost perfect system. What I'd really like for the PS4 is for developers to stop focusing so much on graphics and work on some decent gameplay and make games challenging again. I find the 4 original SNES games I have 10x harder than any PS3 game I have, MGS4 comes the closest.
