What can I use instead of the glue feature?

Everything unglued, but I was near the beginning of creation so I put everything back without gluing.2008-11-30 10:25:00

Bolts, they're a bit ugly but you can use those, what you can also do is ( if people can't see it ) place just a dot of dark matter on the material to have it floating.2008-11-30 10:27:00

Precisely. You don't have to glue those, but I would recommend it.2008-11-30 10:31:00

Yeah, I can move them around with my Sackboy in play mode if I try to.

I'm using dark matter as the base of my level to have it float. It's not a level that is in midair, but it does dip lower later on, so I'm starting high.

Always start high, you never know when you want to "dip" 2008-11-30 10:35:00

You can use little bits of Dark Matter, and use The Cow glitch (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=5161) to make it fit in with the style of your level.2008-11-30 11:50:00

The unglue glitch happens (at least) when something that is glued to another object disappears/dissolves. Therefore all you need to do is make sure points bubbles and dissolvable materials are not glued to anything!

Other than that, I use the glue feature pretty often.

I once suffered from the unglue bug once. It was a terrible thing and I gave up on the whole level. I was not that far through though, just at the first section I was working on. This was while I was still learning about the create mode.

There were point bubbles involved, as well as small amounts of dissolve, but I think it was the sheer number of times I glued and unglued complex objects to each other and the floor. :o

I recently had lots of problems with my level ungluing.

I've now split the level into distinct sections with one piece of dark mater to hold the whole section. I keep the sections away from each other during development as much as I can.

Also, I realised that if you move the left stick in a particular direction, it will only glue in that direction. If hold L2 it will only glue to whats behind and L1 glues only to whats in front.

Yeah, I found that out a long time ago, I thought I was the only one that didn't know, guess not though!

Just make sure to lightly move the joystick in the direction, if you hold it too forcefully, you'll lose your form and other worse things can happen. ( Common sense though right? )

I must test this...

Brilliant tip - this will save hours of moving of objects around just to glue them and move them back again. Thanks! I think this tip should go somewhere more easily accessible to everyone..... wasn't there a sticky post with known bugs and work arounds? maybe there?2008-12-01 00:07:00
