So I'll be the first to admit it, I'm a bit of a...erm...trophy whore enthusiast. I just hopped on the good ol' PS3 to find I had been demoted from a level 11 to a level 1 (as had all of my friends)! :eek: LOLWUT? When I accepted the new SNEA user agreement earlier today, my trophy sync and everything went fine. But now...well yeah. I also can't view or edit my profile in any way. Hopefully I'm not alone and hopefully this is just some sick joke from Sony. Thanks for the near heart attack guys. Thoughts?

So if you get in an argument over who is better at a game you can just say "Well I got all gold trophies and you didn't, so there!" But would be nice if trophies added something extra. Like 10 cent for a silver trophy, 20, for gold and 5 for bronze.

Yeah, they give you bragging rights. So if you get in an argument over who is better at a game you can just say "Well I got all gold trophies and you didn't, so there!" But would be nice if trophies added something extra. Like 10 cent for a silver trophy, 20, for gold and 5 for bronze. Trouble is that system is far too explotable, something like sonics ultimate genesis collection would give $2.95 in about half a day add a few other easy games and multiple alt accounts and people will be getting everything on the PS store for free. Even a basic 1 cent per trophy could be exploited to some extent, I'm not going to repeat the full 1750 i've got over nearly 3 years but I could dump all my replays on an alt to get a cheaper game or dlc for free. There's a few good schemes in place like Uncharteds unlockable cheats, Ubisofts Uplay that gives points for a few trophies that can be exchanged for things like bonus maps and skins and I think some do home rewards. So there is a small hope that things like that will be one of the next things the industry decides is the big thing to do.

Some trophies (like Fallout ones, for example) make you play the game differently than you normally would to earn them. Really, I see it as a way to get the most out a of a game I possibly can. Plus the bragging rights don't hurt either.
