Due to the recent change to SNEA...

..and to tis new terms of serive, it would seem I cannot nor will I accept these conditions. I read through the entire thing, and it seems I can't really accept without facing some legal issues that may get me in some deep problems. I mean really, have you heard that stuff, even if I wasn't in any danger, I would've not accpet the new terms anyways, they're ridiculous if you actually pay attention to it! :/ Seriously, SONY's starting to get on my nerves with this whole ordeal and whatnot, which is why I've given up on the online Services and online gaming on PSN, I'll still be around on the forums and all, you just won't see me online and stuff. I may still keep playing offline, tho more than likely get an Xbox or a DS or something, at least I don't have to deal with this stuff there or worry about al that stuff if I wanna play online... Anywho, just thought I'd post to let you guys who play with me online know, since I can't really message you via PSN, and also to vent a little at the new Terms of Service, which are kinda ridiculous imo... That is all! - Silverleon out. (from PSN at least.) (So, anyone got a list of what DS/ 360 games I should get? You know, like the "Must Have"?) | 2011-04-01 22:51:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Wait, was it that bad? Bad enough to give up LBP and the entire PS3? Would you mind saying how exactly it is that bad? D: | 2011-04-01 23:13:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
What exactly are these changes you speak of? | 2011-04-01 23:44:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
Shame. Sorry to see you go. I'm asking the same as the other guys though. What exactly did you disagree with? | 2011-04-01 23:48:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
What exactly are these changes you speak of? At a minumum they used find and replace to change all SCEA into SNEA. | 2011-04-02 00:41:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |

I think all of you may be forgetting something... You're right! We can't let Sony continue to take out rights from us. We must rise up and revolt! Who's with me? | 2011-04-02 03:08:00 Author: Enlong3 Posts: 357 |
Oh yeah, its 1st of April where you guys live... | 2011-04-02 03:08:00 Author: AA_BATTERY Posts: 1117 |
This is not an April Fools joke. They removed "Other OS" last year on April 1. In a nutshell: They now reserve the right to charge for PSN in the future. A bunch of good stuff/BS (YMMV) about hacking and changing the word "computer" to "network", giving them more power to sue. Credit card information is required if you want to make sub-accounts. It's really not enough to make you quit your PS3 imo, but it is still a little annoying that they can now charge for PSN if they want. | 2011-04-02 03:24:00 Author: Arkei Posts: 1432 |

Technically, you're not even allowed to access the PSN on your PS3 unless you are using only Sony approved hardware. I had to throw out my expensive compaq wireless keyboard because it no longer served me a useful purpose as I am not allowed to use it while accessing the PSN. | 2011-04-02 03:40:00 Author: Enlong3 Posts: 357 |

Thats seems fair, maybe I could start playing MGO again. If this makes it tougher for cheaters and hackers, I would approve. I bought my ps3 post "Other OS" and use it for games, netflix, and music. I have got my $299 worth of entertainment, and then some. I am not concerned about the new network terms at all as I only use my PS3 for reasons they approve of. I could see not wanting to use psn if you use it for other reasons, but I don't think the average user will be effected. | 2011-04-02 03:49:00 Author: EinRobot Posts: 739 |
Now THIS is an April Fools. Ya, I'm not leaving, and I'm not really in any trouble or anything, just wanted to make my story a little bit more mixed, to make it more believable, since plain out saying "I'm leaving" would be too obvious. The SNEA thig isn't tho, SONY did put them in charge of PSN and stuff, it was only my "Not gonna be on PSN aymore" thing that was the joke. (Hopeflly you guys didn't delete me from your lists. xD) Well then I guess that joke's over with, was gonna let it run a bit longer for people in different time zones, but eh, you read above, so thx for the colaboration of the mods for not locking this, and to the genuine (at least genuine looking) which make both of my main April Fool Jokes in RL and online a success! (tl;dr: I'm not really leaving and there really is new terms of service and PSN was indeed given to the SNEA branch.) Happy April Fools Everyone! | 2011-04-02 03:57:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

It was very well written but one detail instantly gave it away. Silver has already admitted to reading through Terms of Services all the way through | 2011-04-02 08:30:00 Author: Testudini Posts: 3262 |

Silver has already admitted to reading through Terms of Services all the way through Yup, I like to read all of that stuff throughly. Call me paranoid, whic I kinda am, but I tend to make and be completly sure there's no sort of "trap," something I can really not approve of, or some hidddend thing in between the lines, you know? I just like to be sure to fully know what I'm agreeing to. @midnight_heist: Well, I can tell you it was funny to me. Besodes, I thought it was about fooling someoe, which is why its called April "Fools", right? I "Fooled" people in to thinking something that wasn't, so mission accomplished imo. :3 | 2011-04-02 09:25:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

Well I'll be. This is probably the best April Fools joke I've seen this year. Mostly because it was actually believable >_> Anywho. Uh... Lol. Good show. :kz: | 2011-04-02 12:40:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |

I sat for a whole minute trying to figure out if the PS3 actually has a time travelling device inside it when they mentioned time bombs in that list C: Apart from that, you got me before I knew it was a joke XD | 2011-04-04 20:59:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |

Next year silver, next year... I'll be waiting. So awesome that this many fell for it (for me at least.) I truly don't like to make obvious April Fool's jokes, since in that day its obviously a joke most of the times, that's why think it throughtly, and I atempt to gather the most believable story toghether so as to make it believable, glad to see it worked. | 2011-04-06 21:33:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
