This only just happened to me, so im not entirely sure how I should explain it. I was in create mode, making something involving an emitter that emitted out an object with a microchip attached to it. I had the emitter set to 'On,' but I was going to connect it up to a switch; I had it running just for the hell of it. I went to hook up the switch to the emitter and deleted the spare object it had put out. As soon as I deleted the emitted object, I heard that distinct, crackling "Pop" that you get when audio suddenly cuts out. And that's just what I was left with. No sound coming from the level, pop-it, start menu or anything on the PS3 at all! I saved the level onto another space to see if it had effected it in play mode as well. It had. I then returned to my pod where I still got no audio. Then I began to worry my PS3's sound card had blown, so I quit the game. But, when I did, as if by magic, my sound was back! Now im back in the same saved level and there's no problem whatsoever. This (hopefully) hasn't caused any trouble, but I just thought i'd bring it to your attention. One thing I think might have been a contributing factor, was that the microchip had a sound object placed on it. The emitter was set to infinite lifetime for the spawned object.
