Recording psp levels?

It records the signal sent to the card. You hook your device (PS3, PSP, Cable box, DVD player, whatever) up to it the same way you would hook it up to a TV or monitor. Also, can someone confirm for me whether or not the PSP disables the built-in screen when it's hooked up to a monitor?
