Bionic commando grappling hook

I'm thinking of making a Bionic commando rearmed style level .
I need to know how to make a grappling hook for a sackbot.
It would be easier if you have played a bionic commando game.

Sehven came up with a great way to implement a custom grappling hook, and I can verify that it works as I'm using one in my own level. However, it will take a lot of tweaking for you to make it function decently. Mine still breaks easily and looks pretty ugly. I hope you also don't mind seeing sackboy/sackbots arms stretch realllllly long while they're swinging around....

For a Bionic Commando style, you would probably want it to shoot out in fixed directions. Forward, up, or diagonally up, yeah? To do that, perhaps you could emit some hologram material with a tag on it in the proper direction and have the hook follow the tag. If you also want the grappling hook to retract nicely if it doesn't find anything to attach to, you might be able to do that with follower logic, too, although I haven't tried it.

edit: Actually, simply using mover logic on the hook would probably make more sense.
