Hi So I have connected my keyboard to LBP2 and when I type on it, it doesn't type on the screen like other people's does. However when i press square and go into the poppit and type in text chat there my keyboard works. If i bash loads of keys on my keyboard then a little pop up comes up in the corner and i can type, but i cant delete letters or press enter for the message to pop up. I am using a very goo keyboard and it works perfectly on my PC so there is nothing wrong with the keyboard itself Help would be much appreciated thanks

This is a kinda sucky answer, but it's probably some sort of compatability issues between the ps3 and your keyboard... How does it fare if you use it for PSN PMs and browser interaction/navigation? EDIT: This reply was written on my ps3 using a low-end 10 dollar wired USB keyboard.

Hmm. I do believe you are meant to use the USB keyboard peripheral. Or, it may be what the chap above me said and that there is a compatibility issue. I wish you the best of luck on your journey friend! -Clayton

Nope, you should be able to just type without going onto the popit, it should be at the bottom left while you type.

I have a ?20 USB keyboard (got it half price, yay!), and all I have to do is plug it in the USB port and it works fine. Does it need a CD or something to set up? All I can think of are compatibility issues.

I am using a very good keyboard That's probably the problem. Is it one of those keyboards that has all kinds of extra functions and buttons and stuff? Pick up a cheap, nasty keyboard and use that. I recall reading somewhere that it needs to be a certain USB type or something but I think most bog-standard USB keyboards would work.

Yeah, I've used three different keyboards on mine with no issues, and they've all been cheap pieces of garbage. Downgrade to upgrade, dude, it's probably a compatibility thing like the others said...good luck!

Your keyboard need to be pure USB/BT Keyboard standard in order to work on PS3 or else messy stuff will happen when you type since only does kayboard drivers PS3 have, also if you use international keyboard you need to set right charset in Accessory settings in XMB Keep in mind all accessory issues are PS3 firmware problem not LBP2 or other games
