Camera issues...

I am trying to do a level where the player gets into a controllinator, and the scene cuts to a computer screen, then a flash game type, located elsewhere. After this, however, I wish for the camera to come back to the player, so the Film Camera trick is out, or I would think it would be. My issue is, however the camera won't cut to the item, it rather cuts halfway, then comes back to the player. | 2011-03-31 04:43:00 Author: Unknown User |
You can't really have a game camera that can't see the player. The camera will either fail or it will kill the player for being off screen. What you can do is put the player's controlinator on an invisible piece of hologram with a follower set to follow something within the camera zone. Then the player will still be "in view" of the camera, but invisible. | 2011-03-31 05:17:00 Author: Dr C Posts: 122 |
THe film camera will work perfect, you just need to set the timer to end, or have the camera skippable, or have the camera dissolve. You can have the camera in a chip that shuts off when you select what ever, so the timer can be infinate, but turns off via chip. | 2011-03-31 05:33:00 Author: celsus Posts: 822 |
I have a similar setup in my level. The movie camera that is on during the remote control portion of the level is canceled by activating a copy of the movie camera but with a zero hold time. The zero hold time camera is basically just a camera canceler. If you still need I would be glad to show you just add me on psn: AceMcMann. | 2011-03-31 07:43:00 Author: Ace29 Posts: 132 |
Lol, I had the same thing set on a walker. I wish there was something less clunky with out the camera angle change between movie and non-movie camera, but yeah other than that it works perfect. I have not tried the microchip yet, but I do wonder if it is a bit less costly on the thermo, insted of two camreas, one in a chip. | 2011-03-31 08:04:00 Author: celsus Posts: 822 |
Both cameras on the same chip I think would be the best set up because when you copy the first camera all of it's settings remain in place including angle and zoom and you wouldn't have to adjust anything (besides the hold time) because the cameras are shooting from the same position. Mine is not currently set like this and there is a slight shift during that very short transition that I think I can now eliminate by putting both on a chip. | 2011-03-31 19:28:00 Author: Ace29 Posts: 132 |
