The Mind Factory [1P Only] by Jackofcourse (Mm Picked)

Hello there Sackfolk! I have a new level finished and published! It's been over a year now since I last created anything primarily for myself, so I am very pleased to say that I finally managed to find LBP time that is for me and only me! I've really enjoyed creating this one and I hope you enjoy it. Going back to the good old days of creating whatever I feel like has been very refreshing and really good fun. It's very much a platformer like my other levels, however it is utilising a lot of the new features in LBP2 and is primarily based around one extra Sackboy mechanic. Anyway, this is probably going to be the last level that I publish so I really hope you all enjoy it! Here's a few pictures, and LBP.me link http://lbp.me/v/zhsx-p. Have fun! http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/jackofcourse/APhoto_1-4.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/jackofcourse/APhoto_3-4.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/jackofcourse/APhoto_4-2.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/jackofcourse/APhoto_6-5.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/jackofcourse/APhoto_9-3.jpg http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/jackofcourse/APhoto_12-2.jpg Jack x http://lbp.me/v/zfbben | 2011-03-30 18:26:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |

Looks Amazing!!! Can't wait to play another level from jackofcourse! It's a bummer though that it's your last level on LBP. | 2011-03-30 22:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
When I first read what sackit's power was, I admit, my thought was, this gimmick? Allow me to apologize for that thought. This level is tops. | 2011-03-31 03:38:00 Author: Kanada Ten Posts: 87 |
Hey dude! Simply stunning work! I saw this level locked on your moon a few days ago, and the only play was from StevenI, so I hearted it and waited to see it push it's way up onto to the cool pages soon, and it did, which was awesome! This level really had some awesome puzzles! I'd have to say the scoreboard was probably the coolest in all of LBP, I swear no one make them actually involved in something, it was great! After every death I'd go, duhhh, why didn't I think of that the first time, I'll definitely replay it to get all those light thingies, great work! | 2011-03-31 04:18:00 Author: Jayhawk_er Posts: 403 |
Found all but one bonus orb thing. I wonder where it's hiding.. A very nice level. I enjoyed it. Lots of varied gameplay, and the extra mechanic makes for some interesting sections. Thanks for making your platforming levels for us Jack. Definitely a memorable creator. What will you be doing now? Plus how do you get that snazzy pin? | 2011-03-31 07:08:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
Another old-times-classic creator leaving? Bad news. Obviously LBP2 is not as fresh as LBP1 I suppose. Good luck in whatever you do next Jack. Awesome level BTW | 2011-03-31 08:12:00 Author: poms Posts: 383 |
Thanks for playing guys! Really glad you enjoyed it And btw I'm not going anywhere, will still be here posting and playing as much as ever, I just probably won't be publishing much Nothing to do with the quality of LBP...it's as awesome as ever | 2011-03-31 09:49:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |
Fantastic fun, genial gameplay, and a perfectly pitched challenge, I loved it. And you got a few jokes in there too! Definitely one of my favourite levels out there.....I know it's 1P only, but I can imagine the hilarity trying to get through this with 4 players, so I'll be lining this up when I'm next in a group. Definitely a loss to the game if you're bowing out of create, I actually think your levels just get better and better....but a fitting note to go out on, wonderful stuff. | 2011-03-31 10:45:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |

Really glad people are enjoying it. Yeah it is a good laugh in multiplayer. The reason I put 1P is simply because that gives the best experience of the level and how it was intended to be played when I built it. Only one player at a time can control the platforms so it just makes sense However it does work in multiplayer, it just probably won't be as smooth in places! | 2011-03-31 10:52:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |
Queued, will edit later with what I thought EDIT: Very well put together, loved it. As good, if not better than, Rogue Panda Rescue. Nice intro and the only criticism I can give you is that it was a bit too easy, although that may just be me. Nice job and looking forward to your next level. | 2011-03-31 12:04:00 Author: Flamento Posts: 352 |
Really fun level! The controllable platforms add an extra challenge to the gameplay, especially in the parts where you have to move the platform while you are in mid-air. The design is simple yet nicely detailed and coordinated. I hope you decide to continue creating more inventive levels like this one in the future! | 2011-03-31 12:42:00 Author: Bender Posts: 75 |
OH i know you from here yet i've never played one of your levels i think... I'll make sure to play it when i can. :3 *mew | 2011-03-31 14:09:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |

I'm glad everyone is liking the style of platforming. One of the main things I tried to do was introduce the player to the mechanic slowly and then gradually ramp up the difficulty Queued, will edit later with what I thought Awesome thanks! Really awesome. This level has something very new to me, and that's movable platforms. VISUALS: The visuals are electrifying and colorful. The level has really good use of the materials, and it's well decorated with stickers. SOUND: Good music choice for this level. GAMEPLAY: This level has very unique obstacles, and the movable platforms are spectacular. The secrets are ingenious as well. How do you make the platforms move without going on a controlinator? Am I playing as a sackbot who can use the grappling hook? OVERALL: This level is mind-blowing. A yeah vote and a heart. | 2011-03-31 18:12:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Am I playing as a sackbot who can use the grappling hook? Is it just me or is this a great question? | 2011-03-31 18:29:00 Author: EinRobot Posts: 739 |
Is it just me or is this a great question? I think you just set a controlinator to Receiver, and then Nearest Player. From the Wiki (http://www.wiki.lbpcentral.com/Controlinator): Receiver - Receives information from transmitters of the same colour frequency. You cannot enter the controlinator in this mode. Turning this option on gives you the option to receive button presses from the nearest player in the trigger radius, without requiring them to sit in the controlinator. | 2011-03-31 18:39:00 Author: Kanada Ten Posts: 87 |

Your level is apparently so awesome its crashing the servers. 5 stars!! | 2011-03-31 20:19:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
Your level is apparently so awesome its crashing the servers. 5 stars!! So I'm reading in the comments! (over and over again...) It is just the servers being crazy slow and not my level isn't it? Surely it's not the level when it was working fine for the past 24 hours... | 2011-03-31 21:05:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |
Got this queued up for play during my break! F4F is in my sig if you please! EDIT played it: just about a perfect level with a great (simple?) gimmick. The only 'bad' thing I can possibly think of was about one of the hidden orbs. Everything feels very polished and the bit where you change the level on the fly just makes for awesome eyecandy. I got to the one orb where you have to navigate a blue platform to the right while hanging underneath it, but could not find a way to get back from that. Am I missing something or is your only option death after obtaining it? | 2011-04-01 13:51:00 Author: Alphagaia Posts: 64 |
Great level jack. I've been waiting almost a year now for a pure jackofcourse level, and I wasn't disappointed. I noticed the relevance to "shoot jump die". In that it was all based around a specific mechanic.... At the same time it had great classic jack wow moments. My favorite was when a whole room sucked into the background and another one closed over it for the player to move through. Thanks for another great experience. | 2011-04-02 15:29:00 Author: Lockstitch Posts: 415 |

Yeah, in my last few levels I've concentrated more on the actual gameplay elements and less on the moving mechanics that you'd see in some of my older levels. I think gameplay orientated stuff is just something that's developed naturally as I've got better and more knowledge of game design. Shoot Jump Die probably gave me a huge push in that direction really. I just really like the idea of taking a specific mechanic and running with it. That being said, that section that you just mentioned is very much like something you'd see in my older levels I just got to that stage and felt like doing something a bit mechanical and thought the level could do with something that moved a bit more dynamically. I don't think it's any surprise that it's your favourite part considering your levels haha Thanks for taking the time to let me know what you think! | 2011-04-02 23:30:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |

Am I missing something or is your only option death after obtaining it? Hey! Thanks for the feedback, I missed your post there because it was edited! Yeah there are two ways to get out of that orb bit alive... 1. The platform that you're dangling from...if you take that so it's flush with the end, you can swing up and glab the sponge above I then also added another way to get out of it because I was worried that may be a little tricky for people to work out... 2. When you get the orb...the floor beneath you that was electric actually delethalises! To make this more noticeable I actually added a sound effect and a big holographic electric field around it as well haha. There's no doubt this part is a little more fiddly and tricky to work out than the other sections, but seeing as it was for an orb and a secondary objective, I didn't really mind. There's another orb that's similarly fiddly that I wouldn't put into the core gameplay. At the part where the whole section sucks in and a new one comes up...to get that orb you have to grab the sponge and then bounce and move while hitting your head so you can get the sponge into the top hole...that fiddly bouncy mechanic is something I'd never put into the actual core gameplay, but didn't mind for the orbs because I wanted them to be a bit tricky! Thanks for the feedback! | 2011-04-02 23:42:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |

Played it long time ago (before it was Mm picked ) and yesterday (I think) I played it again because I wanted to collect all the orbs. Controlling plattforms with the right stick in a plattformer is a very great idea! I really enjoyed playing it! It was fun and challenging! And the yellow orbs were quite a motivation to replay it again (worked on me ). The introduction was btw really funny And I also love the design. Oh my, not a single thing I didn't like :3 I thought you might be interested in hearing my review and what I think off your level | 2011-04-12 18:49:00 Author: StarrKable Posts: 196 |
