Sackbot Line of Sight?

Is this possible?

I pretty much made a MGS-type of level.
I placed Player Sensors on the sackbots, which have a 90 Degrees line of sight. Entering the Player Sensor will trigger the alarm
The problem is though, when the sackbot turns around, the Player Sensor stays at the same angle. So he pretty much has eyes on his back!

You cant make a sneaking-level when all the sackbots have to stand still in order to have the Line of Sight to work lol..

You will probably need to use two player sensors - one pointing in either direction - and combining these into AND gates with some sort of signal that is reading out which direction your sackbot is facing. This way, the player sensor activates if it is in the direction that your sackbot is moving.

How you determine which direction your sackbot is moving is another matter entirely. I'm not sure how you've set up your sackbots to patrol, so its not an entirely simple matter.

You could try having an invisible piece of holo that is set to follow the sackbot, and put a rocket rotator on it. Now put your sensor on this holo. Hopefully it should always face the direction the sackbot is going. I'm not sure about the behaviour when he's standing still, though, but hopefully it will remain in place until he moves again.2011-03-30 19:38:00

Both solutions above should work although I like the accuracy of Thegide's idea better. Except that I would increase it to 4 player sensors to cover the full 360 degrees. Put each one on a MC. Adjust the angle and range of each. Connect them to the outputs of a 4 input selector. Now use signals from what ever is controlling their up down left right movements to the correct chip with the corresponding range of vision. Then connect the outputs of the 4 player sensors to an or gate. And the output of the or gate to whatever you use for the guards alarmed state. Viola!2011-03-30 20:04:00
