Questions about sackbot custom jumps and sackbot checkpoints.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGKlUQlQ6Q4&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_YW2qsoxEg&feature=related I was following these videos and in the first one I found out that the player can keep jumping in the air as long as he sticks to a wall, these seems to be because the impact sensor doesn't differentiate between floors, walls or roofs. Do you have any idea on how to solve this so the player can jump just once? Following the second video, I found out that it doesn't seem to be necessary to make a tag sensors for each checkpoint, I just have one connected to the or gate and it seems to work fine, I just want to know if you think I'm missing something that would have latter consequences. I already posted these questions in each video and the user did told me in the first that I could use tags, which seems to be so far a good solution, but I'm asking here to see If someone know of a less time consuming solution. | 2011-03-28 22:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
You could stick a sensor on your floors and walls telling the sackbot player what its touching through impact sensors. I havn't tried this but I'm sure it would work. You would have to make sure that your floor, wall, and ceiling were not connected through the same material though. Example: make floor out of wood and add a tag named "floor". Add impact sensor to sack bot chip to detect tag "floor" The sack bot now knows when it is touching the floor and when it is not. Repeat with any surface that you wish to effect the player bot. | 2011-03-29 23:05:00 Author: Siljin Posts: 76 |
