Sky Path

Hey again, I've made another level. It's a straight forward platformer, I've done some custom music for it (a bit of Aphex Twin) and spent a lot of time on the art style. While yeh, it is short, that's because I didn't want to be stretching out gameplay. There is absolutely no filler-gameplay in the level and I tried to pack in as many new ideas as I could think of. As usual it's calm and pretty unique. If you choose to play this, that would be great and I'm willing to give feedback to anyone who asks for it. I hope you enjoy it (: Thanks. I don't really want to post a photo, since it will show the sky as white and you can't see any of the detail... but I'll put on up anyway just for a taster. (In the game the sky is blue, when you use colour correction it never really shows up on the pictures :/) http://ib.lbp.me/img/ft/3cb786940cf5d5b1c3aedf8e30ab49e5b5bda2ae.jpg Also: I can't go and change it till about this time tomorrow but there's a typo in the description.... GAH! http://lbp.me/v/zgvq7c | 2011-03-28 21:40:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |

Nice peaceful level. I love the calm yet dangerous atmosphere. Wish it was longer.... Check out my 3-Point Shoot Out level when you can, it's really addicting! | 2011-03-28 22:19:00 Author: Unknown User |

Thanks Bloo. The plan now is to a) fix that typo! b) I'll probably end up continuing work on the level, adding some kind of Tibetan/Japanese hybrid temple thing to mix things up a tiny bit then I might completely republish it, might not. We'll see. | 2011-03-29 07:50:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |

Great job ^^ I got to working a little on an expansion to it to make it longer since the length is all that people are really not too happy about. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I didn't do the original music justice though. Search up Pentiatil Cx Htdui by Aphex Twin if you want to hear it properly. I'm thinking of putting in new music for the new section too, probably will be Moonlight Sonata. xP | 2011-03-29 21:07:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
Hey Jonny, I played and liked your level, beautifull, quiet, nice music. I've found a minor issue. If you jump from here (http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/1f01ca2e0a54722b0c42dbf2ee229323aebec6ea.jpg) (jump on the wooden plateform then to the left), you can fall behind the boat, to the bottom of the map (http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/8cc9e021860b6e3e9c464d969adc9861513ea137.jpg). Anyway great level, simple but good platforming sequences. | 2011-03-30 00:02:00 Author: Slurm Posts: 262 |

M'kay, as soon as I can I'll go in and probably just lay down a huge bit of poisonous gas to stop all little things like that | 2011-03-30 07:32:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
I actually played this last night and really enjoyed it. I did actually manage to die a few times by being silly (Close to the end where you reach the end of the platform and then are supposed to go left I hopped over the small wall and promply died. Maybe the wall should be a bit bigger? Other than that I enjoyed it. Well done! (and thanks for your previous post on my level - Temple of Trials) | 2011-03-30 08:09:00 Author: Unknown User |
This level is incredibly beautiful. Your levels are some of the most artistic that I've seen in the game. The gameplay and the obstacles were fresh and original. There were some "aww, I wish I had come up with that" moments. The simplistic music was just perfect for this level and it inspired me to try my composing skills in this game. Did you make it yourself? Please keep making levels like this, you're probably my current favorite creator. | 2011-03-30 15:19:00 Author: Edeslash Posts: 135 |

The original song is Pentiatil Cx Htdui by Aphex Twin and I don't think I really did it justice to be honest. I did change things here and there with it though. And to you and everyone else, thanks for the feedback. I have the time to play your levels today so I'll hop on and do that. | 2011-03-30 17:47:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
Q'd it, sounds interesting, will play and leave feedback tomorrow. If you could do F4F on my movie lvl 'The Machiniac', thanks in advance | 2011-03-30 19:33:00 Author: Blanchrocker Posts: 142 |

If you could do F4F on my movie lvl 'The Machiniac', thanks in advance I keep trying to play it but it never loads, I'll keep trying though. @Everyone: I'm in the process of completely reworking the level. The visuals and audio effects will be improved and there'll be a nice chunk of gameplay stuck to the end which, in my opinion, is turning out to be pretty awesome. | 2011-04-01 12:25:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
Hi, yh i had that problem yesterday, thats why i couldnt leave feedback, but i managed to play it to day. I thought the level was very tranquil and enjoyable, i think a few stickers or decorations would be nice though I rated your level 'yay', well done | 2011-04-01 20:01:00 Author: Blanchrocker Posts: 142 |

I thought the level was very tranquil and enjoyable, i think a few stickers or decorations would be nice though I rated your level 'yay', well done I finally managed to do it so I put up some feedback on the thread. In the "super awesome redoing" of the level I'm planning to make it a lot more exciting to look at while keeping the calm feel. I'm thinking custom small-scale aqueducts. Oh and I've managed to make a night sky for the added portion of the level so visually I'm going nuts with it | 2011-04-02 09:58:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
The visuals were stunning and it was a nice break from all action levels. theres only one thing which could be better, but is fine how it is, and thats the music. it felt very thin at times, so maybe like 1 more instrument to accompany the piano. just another piano playing a slightly altered version of the origional might make it sound cooler. but as i said, its still good, even if you dont change it. could you F4F the link in my sig please? Thanks! | 2011-04-02 15:05:00 Author: keanine Posts: 114 |
I loved your other works bud! I'll be Queueing this up and playing it when I get back in town. | 2011-04-02 15:13:00 Author: Lockstitch Posts: 415 |

Thanks! Hmm, now that is a good idea. But then I'd be walking into uncharted waters by adding something that I did myself (rather than adapting a song I like). But we'll see how it goes. Oh and I queued the most recent level you've published since you didn't specify. I loved your other works bud! I'll be Queueing this up and playing it when I get back in town. Cheers man, I don't know how long it'll take you but it's entirely possible it'll be a completely different/better level by then. | 2011-04-02 16:21:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
^_^ Hi there! Just played this level. I loved the calming atmosphere, the subtle low music really draws you in to notice the sounds such as the gentle breeze in the background. The visuals were also simplistically perfect for the mood. Reminded me of jump_button's sky town levels but with your own serene twist! The music did its job, peaceful yet cautious, nice The gameplay was also smooth and easy without being a complete cakewalk. The moving set pieces were wonderful, and the "sails" were nice too. (if only MM gave us a billowing material other than white/dark matter! Would have been TOP notch!) The length did not bother me at all, seemed like a nice, short and sweet level. Can't wait to see more! YAYED! Oh are you still doing F4F? I'd appreciate it if you could provide feedback on my level found HERE (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=52127-Ivory-Tower-The-Cascading-Spire) Thanks in advance! Hope you enjoy! | 2011-04-02 16:45:00 Author: Noroibito Posts: 211 |

Sure, I've queued it up and should get back to you a bit later (: It should feel a bit similar to the Sky Town series since I pretty much nabbed the colour correction (with a few alterations) directly. But as a wise man once said "It's better to steal an idea than to be influenced by it, otherwise you'll just do it wrong". Also there's 'sky' in the title. But the similarities should end there (I hope, I like to think my levels have a tiny bit of individuality in them xP) Speaking of balloons... I think I know how to end the expansion. Thanks for the feedback. | 2011-04-02 18:19:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
UPDATE: Anyone who completes this, or indeed any of my other levels, will be the winner of a FREE short-movie. In other words I've made a movie that you see when you complete any one of my levels, it holds a nice little bit for anyone who's played any of my other levels or this level post-update. The update in question should be up soonish, though I'm still deciding whether or not it'll be published as a new level or republished over this one. | 2011-04-03 09:40:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
Very good job! Didn't have any issues at all. Maybe add some more decorations and liven things up a little bit, but still, the clean style really suits how the level is designed. F4F: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=49447-Secrets-of-Science-Chapter-1-No-Time-to-Lose Sorry it's been a while, I'll get right on it. I'm sorta torn on what to do with this level as far as improving it goes. I have an updated version already that I've put quite a load of time into but I can't bring myself to finish it for some reason ): | 2011-04-04 18:01:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |

i know how you feel >_< Haha I had to stop it completely in the end, hopefully I'll be able to get back to it because there really is only the tiniest bit I need to do to finish it off then I can republish it. In the meantime I've been preoccupied with another level that kinda sprung out of nowhere when I was experimenting with lighting. It's going to be absolutely insane unless I stop running out of ideas for the gameplay and I'm not even exaggerating with this one since it'll most likely be the last full length level I do for a long while so I'm trying to assess criticism before I even get it, if you know what I mean by that. | 2011-04-06 21:32:00 Author: JonnysToyRobot Posts: 324 |
