"Downing Street Fighter" and "Gods of War"

Archive: 4 posts

Good day to you all. I?m an enthusiastic LittleBigPlanet player. And there?s not much to say about myself beyond the fact that I?m big on ideas but rather wanting when it comes to talent. Perhaps that will improve over time.
But I've recently acquired LittleBigPlanet 2 for my 23rd birthday and can perhaps put into practice two ideas I've always wanted to try. Both are classic Beat ?Em Ups, in the mould of Street Fighter and Tekken and both are purely meant to be comical.

Downing Street Fighter is a concept based around the English political system. In which our elected representatives duke it out. You?d have Boris Johnson pitting his drunken style of boxing against George Galloway?s unceasing stream of Trotskyite bile. Of course, all of this wouldn?t be possible. But I would settle for a simple punch/kick game with amusing backdrops, cutscenes and characters.

The same could be said for my other idea. Gods of War. Now, I know that it could be a touchy topic but I am a lover of satire and at the same time am admittedly a religious man ? though it's a very private thing to me But I've always wanted a game that could kind of poke a little fun at the dog-eat-dog world of organised religion. So, you?d have all sorts of nutty matches. Jesus Christ versus Buddha. The Antichrist versus Loki. Stuff like that. With a roster of fighters stretching from Abrahamic figures to the old deities of Ancient Greece and Egypt.
Do any of these ideas sound good? Or are they utterly unfeasible?

Oh, and I've done a little bit of concept art. Here you go

Hey, thanks man. I've been thinking about the roster for that one. And here's what I have so far:

EGYPTIAN
Mummy (Comedy character.)
Anubis
Horus

GREEK
Zeus
Hermes
Hades

CHRISTIANITY
Jesus Christ
Simon The Magician
Pontius Pilate

GODS OF EVIL
The Anti-Christ (Basically a reskin of Jesus Christ. But with a purple robe instead of a white one. Rides into a fight on a white horse.)
Loki
Set

CULT
David Koresh
Jim Jones
Marshall Applewhite

HIDDEN CHARACTERS - IMPERIAL CULT
Caligula
Commodus
Nero

Obviously, I won't be able to do all of these. But I've got an idea of the kind of characters I'd want to include, so that's something. At the moment I'm getting to grips with the game and trying to make a sequel to my LBP 1 level. So this is going to be a while and will most likely be dependant on how I can get the costumes done. I wish we had more options for customisation. There's stuff I want to do that barely seems possible at the moment :/

Both ideas can definitely be done, and both are pretty awesome lol. But unless you got a team (3-4 people maybe, including yourself) it'd take a long LONG time to do either of them. Also you'd have to check the LBP store to see what costumes they have that you can purchase to appropriate your character models, unless you were thinking you'd manually create your characters (in the style of the Street Fighter game near the top of the Mmpicks list) in which case you wouldn't have to buy anything.

Right now I just suggest you watch every single tutorial and get started practicing with small things and work your way up to your idea, if you wanna do it alone.

If you were looking for someone to help you with this, I'm interested. But we'd need a couple more guys, preferably at least one who has experience making complex levels. Either way, hope you get to actually do this cuz it sounds amazing.
