Japanese Dreaming (artistic level)

This is a level I've been working on the last few months. Originally the idea was started about 8 months ago but in December 2010 in LBP1, I began to take the level more serious, but decided to publish the level from LBP2. It's only a small part created in LBP1, and it's by far my most detailed level ever. It's my first on LBP2, and I'll be very happy for some Plays and Feedback from you people of LBPC. Thanks. http://lbp.me/v/zbt1q2 | 2011-03-26 21:35:00 Author: ghik16 Posts: 311 |

I put feedback in the review section on LBP2. It said "Blissfully simplistic...until the ninjaz came." I think you should change the way your introduce the ninjaz, they felt out of place IMO. Oh and can you give feedback on my Calmity Cavemen level? Thanks. | 2011-03-26 22:33:00 Author: liamdaniels Posts: 85 |

Oh and can you give feedback on my Calmity Cavemen level? Thanks. Yes, I've allready queued your level up. Thanks for some feedback. I was actually quite happy of how the ninjas at boss became, but can you give any sort of idea how I should have made them in another way? Like drawings too? | 2011-03-26 22:58:00 Author: ghik16 Posts: 311 |
Its just the way they came at you. The level before that was nice and peaceful, as I said - blisfully simplistic. Then all of a sudden you get some flying electrified ninjas comming at you. You see what I mean now? | 2011-03-26 23:08:00 Author: liamdaniels Posts: 85 |
I've not yet seen a level that used this art style and it looks quite good! I liked it. Nice climax with the chief (which I kept wanting to read as "chef"). A small suggestion would be to put a weak gyroscope on the floating bouncepad ledge so that it doesn't flip over when the player is trying to get out of the water onto it. Also, the part where you destroy bricks with a ball was a little tedious imo. That guy had better appreciate all I had to go through to bring him his sushi! If it were up to me, I would take out the bit about "you can draw a picture for Japan". Drawing pictures isn't gonna help the Japanese rebuild. | 2011-03-27 00:59:00 Author: zabel99 Posts: 179 |

# File Type: jpg JP Dreaming - A puzzle.jpg (22.3 KB, 11 views) I broke the puzzle the first time around, had to restart the level. I hopped under the circle, bumped it with my head, and then jumped back down to the lower level. The circle drifted to the bottom of that space, and I was unable to jump back into the puzzle, even standing on the sushi for extra height. The second time was fine, though I found it tricky to clear the first half of the puzzle. This and the big fiery rolling face shortly afterward sort of slow the level down a little much, so I would suggest speeding them up a little. Also when I pushed my sushi down the slide, I pushed it slowly, so I didn't get to watch it go down the slide. The cameras were off sync with my slow sushi push, so this would look nicer for more players if the camera(s) were on a microchip on the sushi itself. Rough around the edges but decent so far. <3 Japan | 2011-03-27 04:32:00 Author: discokrakken Posts: 108 |
Wonderful visuals all round. The platforming is good with a few completely original ideas! It is clearly your first LBP2 level because there is a lack of the new features but I don't mind, it's a breath of fresh air. Hopefully more people will check it out. | 2011-03-27 14:14:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |

Thanks Discokrakken and Zabel99 for some feedback. I'll look into what I can do with the cameras on the sliding scene. | 2011-03-27 16:31:00 Author: ghik16 Posts: 311 |
Hi! I just played through your level. It was really beautiful in many ways. The layout and the art was just awesome and stylish. The gameplay was original and varying and you even added a cute, charming little story. I think the difficulty was just perfect (for me). The boss battle was fun and original. I like it how you spoke about the earthquake in the end and didn't rub the idea in my face. You're a wonderful creator. For F4F, please play Digging for Inventizite. | 2011-03-27 17:50:00 Author: Edeslash Posts: 135 |

Heyy ghik, thx for playing & reviewing my level. Now heres my review for you: pro + Great style + Well cosen materials, stickers, colours, etc. + Good "bossfight", was a good idea to let the cooking sack dieing by rising water All in all its a pretty good level. The platforming was okay but it could have been more challenging. I yay?ed it ^^ | 2011-03-29 12:07:00 Author: se-mi92 Posts: 101 |
Very good artistic style, love how you made that cel shaded effect to the level, the Chef part was a bit hard but everything else was very well made, great style ^^. I do recomend to like set the camera angles to make the visibility in some spots a bit smoother, other than that great job. Check out my Hidden through Rocks level if you ever get a chance . | 2011-03-29 17:47:00 Author: Bloo_boy Posts: 1019 |

I didn't quite understand that. You mean that I perhaps should use game cameras to make some places easier to navigate through? I played you Moon and Sun level, but I'll gladly play your other level, I'll give it a chance. | 2011-03-31 18:45:00 Author: ghik16 Posts: 311 |
Sorry for not pointing that out, the section with the cheft boss fight, when going in the water the camera would sometimes like stay underwater and it was a bit hard to see. There was nothing wrong with the rest | 2011-03-31 19:10:00 Author: Bloo_boy Posts: 1019 |
